  1. Like her hair, for a change. Don't like the zipper in the back of the dress.

  5. She certainly love this dress as she had this in red during their Canadian tour recently. What I don't like about this outfit is the neckline, other than that, she looks lovely.

  6. Beautiful dress and her hair looks lovely half up. Does anyone recognize the earrings? Wonder whether they are from the royal collection or new. Cannot see them in enough detail...

  8. Catherine looks elegant. If the long zipper is in the back then she should have not wear the belt.

  9. Apparently, Catherine's gorgeous earrings were lent by the Queen, according to this source http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/1479864261.html

  10. I liked this is red and I like it in black. Not sure about the belt, it might look better without it (maybe even better with a retro addition of a pearl necklace) but the belt itself isn't that bad either. I would say this knowing that it might spark a debate: I think she should stop wearing heels that high. An inch or even sometimes two lower heels would fit her better. It's not that she doesn't carry them well, it's that she is tall to begin with and with these Burj Khalifa heels she can't help towering over almost everyone. Yet she wants to look attentive to the people she interacts with and kind of leans her shoulders and head down and forward. That is why she appears to have a bad posture. Also, I applaud her for mastering the clutch clutching art but she shouldn't do that when she talks to people. It is for photos and just standing, it's not when you try to communicate with others. The leaning forward thing is in contrast with her closed, almost crossed hands gesture and this makes her whole posture somehow odd.

    1. I agree with everything you say @ZL, you described well what makes the appearance of Catherine sometimes confusing, the leaning forward to talk to people but in the same time she presses her clutch to her belly with 'iron' fists. I believe that these royals have coaches and get trained in public speaking and body language, I wonder that nobody tells her. Or it is such a strong pattern of hers that she can't get over it.
Apart from that I find that she has adapted well to her role and does a great job.

    2. Yes, apart from that I too think she has adapted well to her role. I could pick out a thing or two that she doesn't do very well (in her "job" and sartorially) but overall she's doing great. At the moment I can't agree with those who always complain about the Cambridges, especially Kate not doing enough engagements and things like that. They are just the second in line to the throne and although they can pick what charities etc. they want to endorse, at the end of the day it's the Queen's and Charles' decision who does what in the royal family. It's no wonder they went to visit the countries they visited and Charles and Camilla often go to the Middle East or that Edward and Sophie go to "less important" places, there is a pattern in this and the Queen knows well who to send and where. Also, I'm 100% sure it's Her Majesty that keeps Kate's engagements at a certain level. The royal family and the Q was heavily criticised for putting too much on Diana and the Q is wise enough to never let that criticism happen again.

These were just some thoughts to those who normally appear here and answer to comments like yours that she is absolutely not doing great :)

    3. Absoulutely agree ZL! I think the Queen wanted William to have a stable and loving marriage. Balanced children. A happy home. In the end that will make for a good King and that is good for the CW.

    4. Yes,I agree. I think she is too tall to wear those heels. And I think her posture combined with tightly clutching her purse in front of her makes for a very tense-looking photo. The Duchess seems to be a very sweet person and very kind, but, unfortunately, she often looks very tense.

    5. I agree with the others who say Catherine's posture makes her look tense. I wish she wouldn't tightly clutch her purse in front of her. It makes her look as if she is trying to keep people away from her. Plus, as someone else said, it makes her shoulders droop. Also, I think the high heels don't help either. Otherwise, she is lovely and is doing a great job.

  11. DOC always seems to be concerned with putting a foot wrong ! Admirable that she wants to get it right, but, it would be lovely to see her her relaxed and less tense ! I'm sure the whole family are very proud of her ! She's doing a great job !
Love the whole look, she looks lovely !

    1. Agree, Annabel. I can almost feel her fear of doing something wrong at these events. The pressure of having every move scrutinized must be immense. But I do hope that she continues to relax into her role. Her speech at this event was a major improvement over past speeches. I think she is doing quite well this year.
