The royal couple's itinerary includes a range of high profile events, including an evening with A-list Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan at a charity gala, meetings with local NGOs and children's charities; a visit to a slum; a hike to a mountain top monastery and a visit to the Taj Mahal.

Besides preparing for her six-hour trek to Tiger's Nest monastery in Bhutan--from which Kate has packed a heavy-duty pair of boots--the Duchess is expected to take along 12 to 15 different outfits for the six days of official visits. These dresses include daytime dresses as well as evening gowns, according to The Telegraph.

The royal couple's tour is scheduled to start in Mumbai on April 10, from where the Duke and Duchess will travel to New Delhi, then on to Kaziranga National Park and Thimphu, capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, and finally, the Taj Mahal.

"She is in charge of it herself and takes an interest in paying tribute to the host country with nods to their culture and local style on at least a few of the engagements," a royal source told The Telegraph. "The important factor on this tour is the heat, so that's an issue that plays a big part in the choice of outfits."

Just a few days after it was announced that the royal couple is scheduled to visit India, Kate Middleton wore a dress by renowned Indian fashion designer Saloni Lodha for a function in London. So, we guess it's safe to assume that the Duchess would be relying on the designer's genius when on her India tour too!

But whilst the Duchess is likely to have spent months talking with designers about commissioning pieces which nod to the host nations, she will also have shopped for pieces online. "It's very much a process that she leads, though she does have some help from her staff when it comes to sourcing outfits," the royal source added.

The Duchess' personal assistant, Natasha Archer, will accompany her on the royal tour, as will her hairdresser, Amanda Cook Tucker, reports The Telegraph.

I think so too, Iris. This couple is not a good choice for a tour like this. Fashion or no fahion style, it's more about their lack of personality and work ethic in general. Sometimes I think, that especially Kate is only doing her "duties" because she has to and not from conviction. Just saying....My humble opinion. Liv

  5. Give this young couple a break. Nothing wrong with Kates taste in clothes, hair or anything else. They will grow more and more into their role as times goes by. And still William is only second in line..so when the times comes and they become Prince and Princess of Wales they will have a completely other role and position in the society. This tour will be a great success with a lot of press all around the world.
