| New Swedish Prince named Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil. On Thursday April 21, 2016, a cabinet meeting was held at the Royal Palace to mark the birth of Princess Sofia's son. At the cabinet meeting, The King informed the Government that the Prince will be named Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil, with the given name Alexander. The Prince was assigned Duke of Södermanland. (Södermanland, is a historical province or landskap on the south eastern coast of Sweden. It borders Östergötland, Närke, Västmanland and Uppland. It is also bounded by lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. In Swedish, the province name is frequently shortened to Sörmland.) |

Who is prince Bertil?
حذفHe was king´s uncle who died 1997. Prince Bertil was not aloud to marry until very late years when King Carl Gustaf was already a king (succesion problems). King´s father died very early and Bertil was like a spare father to king and grand father to Victoria, Carl Philiph and Madeline. They were really very close. Carl Philip and Sofia are going to move to Bertil´s and his late wife Lilian´s house later.
