The Royal Mint has unveiled the design for Princess Charlotte's £5 christening coin, which has been approved by her proud parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as well as the Queen and the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
The coin – which was designed by respected engraver John Bergdahl, who also created Prince George's christening coin – is decorated with harp-playing cherubs encircled by lilies. A baroque-style oval frame at the centre of the coin bears the inscription, "To celebrate the Christening of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge 2015."

ReplyDeleteWilliam isn’t honoring his mom with all of these things like the engagement ring, the name, and now the whole christening of Charlotte. He is using her name to invoke public sympathy and good PR. If you want to look at someone who’s honoring her life and her works, just look at Harry. Funny thing is you don’t see Diana getting mentioned in every article about Harry, unlike William. Most comments come from everyday people on how Harry is a lot like his mom than in the papers.

DeleteWhy would you assume that by using her ring and adding her name to his first-born daughter are publicity stunts? Both are perfectly natural gestures to honor a beloved, deceased mum -- Harry is a great tribute to his mother, and he likley would've done the very same thing if he had a wife and daughter.
