King Charles III, who completed the first two legs of his nine-day Caribbean tour on his own, arrived in Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), following his visits to the Bahamas and Guyana. Queen Camilla joined the King in Antigua and Barbuda.
On November 1, 2026, King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended a church service in the capital, St John's, as part of the country's Independence Day celebrations and events marking the Commonwealth.
Later that day, the royal couple attended the annual Independence Day Parade at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in St George's, marking the 45th anniversary of the country's independence. The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting is held every two years.

I love the photo of King and Queen smiling after being caught in the tropical rain and semi drenched! They see the humour!
ReplyDeleteVery good dresses in nice colours
ReplyDeleteI love both of Camilla's dresses. They both suggest 'cool, light and fresh'. The turquoise colour is perfect for the Caribbean, as is white, which reflects sunlight and heat away. The white dress has a lovely border along the hem and along the length of the sleeves. The slightly rumpled look of the fabric is also congruent with the humid climate and therefore acceptable.
ReplyDeleteMay I also give a shout-out to Charles, whose colours also work perfectly. I love his tie.

That man really needs a tailor.
ReplyDeleteYou should show what really happened, this couple’s Caribbean tours always end up in a fiasco.
ReplyDeleteIndeed. Same type of fiasco like William and Kate’s last tour to the islands. Can’t understand why Charles was so unprepared

DeleteHe represents the British government but cannot speak or act for them unless instructed by them, and even then, must avoid politics and political statements.
DeleteAcknowledging slavery isn’t political at all. Just history. Real history. Charles’ direct ancestors bear the accountability. Not saying the British Government was faultless, but it was the crown’s own moral responsibility
DeleteOn picture N°5 one can see clearly that the suit worn by King Charles is completely worn out. The fabric cannot even support a bit of rain anymore. On the other pictures one can see the terrible condition of this pant suit also.
ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla's dresses are not bad, but her hair looks terrible. Doesn't she has a personal assistant at her disposal to wear her umbrella and give it to her when she needs it ?
Her hair looks lovely. These natural curls happen when there’s humidity. I prefer this look to the straightened hair anytime. I’m a curly girl myself and always happy to see a royal lady out and about with her natural hairstyle instead of a heavily overworked hairdo.

King Charles wears his clothes for a long time because he cares more about the environment and not contributing to fashion waste than looking Ă la mode. I highly esteem his choice. That’s real role modelling. Check some videos from when he was still Prince of Wales to hear his views, very interesting and thought provoking.
DeleteHer hair is fine. Curly hair in the humidity always changes shape a bit. It’s well understood and in no way a problem.
DeleteAnon 13:39: the heavens opened and they atood in a torrential rain! Camilla was the first one to get an umbrella, but King Charles had to wait for some time and was soaked!
DeleteStrange Q Camilla wears no hat to go to a church service ? The black lady in a beautiful silk blue dress and hat and the black man in a light blue suit are dressed better than the King and Queen of the UK.
ReplyDeleteI think the King and Queen are perfectly attired for the heat and the context.
DeleteFirst lady wearing a hat out of respct for the Queen, but Camilla downgraded!
ReplyDeletethey look so happy and relaxed, somehow one forgets to note the clothes, the mood overtakes everything else.
ReplyDelete@13:24- 'all end in a fiasco' no they don't.
ReplyDelete@13:39 - wonder what your hair would look like after being drenched. Most would have run for cover but they were not in a position to do so,Camilla was eventually given a brolly. K.Charles continued with the ceremony and inspection despite being soaked,as you so kindly observed, and despite his age and still having cancer!
Both suit and dress looked good at the end of the evening.
Other kings and queens and I if I was in their place would have been prepared that his could happen. How come the umbrellas were brought too late ? Bad organization. No personal assistants, who carry bags with things like shawls, umbrellas, etc... like other royals.
DeleteBad hairday for Camilla.
ReplyDeleteNo, her hair is more curly due to the high humidity over there !
Delete@17:53: maybe you prefer overdone hair. I find this air humidity caused curly style very attractive on her.
DeleteÉlégante Camilla dans ces deux robes dont le style léger et la couleur lui vont bien ; Charles nous avait habitués à mieux dans le choix de ces costumes !
ReplyDeleteThe king had a good time a few days ago...dancing in the street with maraccas (spelling?) With no rain or queen Camilla
ReplyDeleteYes. That is true. And then the most senior cleric in the country said to their faces he is a republican and the country expects reparations
Delete@21:52, and if the most senior cleric says something you bow your head in awe? There were most senior clerics in this world who blessed those who were sent to be murdered in wars instead protesting against it. And then, there are other most (or less) senior clerics who do things we would not talk about here . So what. Clerics are not saints, are they.
DeleteSo what ? We all say differing things at times. Why put a downer on events?
ReplyDeleteI feel both dresses suit the Queen, and appropriate. Considering the weather conditions, first Humidity then, downpour of rain, the royal couple looked good considering the circumstances. Her hair showing effects of weather as mentioned, she still looked great, not easy well done to both of them. Considering the Kings condition, getting wet and cold factor no doubt with that regardless of the temp, I hope he does not suffer any fallout health wise from this, cold, sickness.
ReplyDeleteWell it’s tropical rain not cold rain, so I think no problem Ava. And getting cold and wet doesn’t give us a cold virus, unless that virus is running around ready to be caught. I think probably it was just fun and cooling and a bit of a surprise!
DeleteCharles sold a horse to an Australian, and it just won The Melbourne cup, and I backed it. Three cheers for the King. Queen Elizabeth loved a good horse race.
ReplyDeleteLucky you!
DeleteThe most important is that the king feels good, beside his cancer. If he can travel to go there, standing in the rain and dancing in the streets his cancer will not be too bad.
ReplyDelete@21:52- why should anything be paid. The British paid the slave owners for the freedom of their slaves, a debt only recently ended. How is to be decided who gets what? Why aren't African tribes/countries who traded Africans amongst themselves then eventually to Europeans being asked to give reparations? What about those countries that continued the slave trade after the British abolisham?
ReplyDeleteI think 13:04 it is far more complex than these questions. Most certainly the African tribes involved were being paid and organised by colonial forces and did not begin the idea themselves; I’m not sure where you picked up this idea. Really worth learning about though. I can recommend some excellent books if you’d like to learn about the subject?
Delete@17:9- slaughter and slavery between African tribes was rife centuries ago. Selling to the Portuguese and Dutch became a good alternative for some! Well documented.
