I am sure there will be many who do not like this ensemble but for me it is delightful, different and shows the Princess in a new light. The skirt is fabulous and a great fit. The blouse blends with it perfectly and coat is just fab.

I like this outfit too. It’s classic and the blouse adds a pretty, feminine touch. She looks great!

    2. I'm one who does not. I like the coat. I really dislike the blouse and skirt. I don't know why she added the belt.

    1. I find it an odd combination. The busy blouse with a belt and a tartan skirt. A plain top and no belt would have worked better in my opinion.

This is such a nice, crisp-looking fall outfit on Catherine. The tartan skirt really pulls the outfit together, and I very much like the color and style of her purse. Her hair looks fantastic; I think her hair looks so good and flattering worn partially pulled back like this. William’s suit and tie are not fully shown in the pictures posted, but he also looked very well-dressed.

I like the outfit. A refreshing change from coat dresses. The 1/2 up hair do is mice with a twist (literally!) Prefer this ruffle than the self tied bows normally worn

I hate that name. It would have worked better with a simpler top to me.

I really like the fashion direction of the plaid skirt, it works really well for Catherine.
I am less enamoured of the ruffled blouse paired with tartan -- especially teamed with a black coat, which is too specific a reference to historical costume for my taste.
But I love how tartan skirts can still look dressy yet modern when worn with a plain, fitted lightweight knit top. Re colour --the white of the blouse creates an overly bright contrast with the soft muted tones of the skirt, but a knit in very light grey would look excellent. Lyra

    1. I usually love tartan skirts this is one of a few I don't like. I might like it better with a grey or tan top. It looks better with that ugly tan sweater on the model.

I love this whole look--very pretty and all the pieces work together very well. Catherine looks lovely and I love this hairstyle on her--I think its a flattering hairstyle for pretty much anyone. The Wickstead skirt is gorgeous!

  8. Love this outfit. I was prepared for another functional trouser suit so this outfit came as a pleasant surprise. Still smart and business like but so much more elegant. My only quibble is that it’s on the long side but a very minor complaint. More like this, please!

I entirely agree with you, @ Ava, my friend.
      Hello, how are you doing?
      I am fine.
Am resting for a while, some time off is what I need.
Just one thing I want to add: I very much like Pss Catherine's hairstyle, her face looks so beautiful!
As always and wherever she goes: how nice to see the crowds welcoming her joyously and she deserves it all, exactly as P.William does.
      Hugs!!!

  21. The jabot style blouse compliments the plaid skirt, classic coat just the right length, beautiful hair - what is there not to like?

    1. I don't quite see in which sense the jabot style blouse compliments a tartan rock ? For me, the composition is not good, because a (long) pleated tartan rock is a busy piece of garment, a jabot style blouse as well, and one busy piece of garment is enough in a composition. So I agree with those who would take a simple top with this skirt and a jabot style blouse with a simple skirt. An the skirt is really too long - if just the very thinnest part of the legs peeks out of the fabric, it looks odd for me.

  23. I agree with anon. 04:06 & 04:10. The Alexander McQueen coat has shoulders which are too pointy to my like. It gives the impression that it is too tight to button up, which is probably not the case. The white blouse is a rewear and the ruffle reminds me of a judge in court. The tartan skirt is too traditional, maybe for the region it is O.K. As a whole I cannot say it is flattering. Sooner or later she always return to the boring outfits.

    1. I definitely thought the jabot blouse looked too much like a judge outfit when Catherine previously wore it with a black jacket and black pants. I think it looks much better here with the tartan skirt - less judge vibes.

  24. @14:26- it is a plaid not a tartan as it is not named. Judges do wear jabot but it is also quite celtic.
The shoulders of the coat give it the right silhouette, imo!

  26. Very British, looks fine., especially with the shoes. Not high fashion, but I prefer a royal in ordinary clothes than being a model for designers.

  27. My first thought was “what is she wearing?” shortly followed by “why all those poorly arranged hair extensions ?” Eventually I found something to like: the coat. It looks lovely.
