On October 9, 2026, King Frederik and Queen Mary visited Skive to mark the city’s 700th anniversary as a market town. Skive is a town in Skive Municipality in the Central Denmark Region, located on the Jutland peninsula in northwest Denmark. It is the municipality’s main town and the seat of its municipal council. For the occasion, Queen Mary wore a brown blazer and skirt by Andiata.

Ah, Andiata is a having great fashion momentum at the moment, at least three royal ladies have been wearing at least four of their outfits in the past couple of weeks! I don’t particularly love this shade of brown, or the short boots Mary is wearing with the skirt, but overall the combination of caramel beige with chocolate brown is quite luscious, and that’s an interesting brooch too. Have we seen it before?

DeleteIt looks plum color not dark brown to me which QM wears down well. Unkind QLetizia, Mary isn’t stiff during official engagements which makes her look polished and elegant regardless of clothing choice. MR
DeleteThe skirt and blazer are good. I really like the darker color on the model. It looks better without a blouse or with the simple turtleneck. That blouse is ugly and I'm not a fan of that headband. I disliked it with the burgundy. The boots aren't the best look either.

DeleteI disliked that blouse when Mary wore it before, and I still think the chunky choker appearance of the collar is unattractive. The colour also is one of those beige-adjacent "nude" shades which tend to look drab against her complexion.
ReplyDeleteBut the hat (I don't think this item counts as a headband) is a real disappointment. I love Mary's headwear as a rule but this item is not only that unflattering "nude" colour, but the angle she is wearing it at looks as if it is about to fall off.
I think the sombreness of this brown suit needs a blouse and headgear in white, or colours such as red, to lift it. Lyra
I am amazed at Mary’s (really all the royal ladies’) ability to look so well-groomed and unbothered walking around dressed up in the rain. I would look like a natural disaster survivor with crazy hair.

They arrive by car. They have umbrella's. How long do you think they are greeting the crowd ? There are special hairspray's for when it is raining or when it is very humid.
DeleteWhen I have to do my errands with a time like this, I am dressed in a coat which is made to wear when it is humid and rainy. I also have my umbrella with me and when it is raining very hard I put on the cap of my rain coat. I am wearing a jeans underneath and leather trainers with a thick sole or booties under my jeans which are sprayed against the rain with a special product otherwise after one season, one can put the booties or trainers in the waste bin. But I am not a queen who is conducted by car by her chauffeur. My father always told me to dress according the weather and he knew it, because he worked his whole life in open air as a building contractor.
Beautiful suit--perfect for fall! The cut, fit, and style look wonderful on Queen Mary. She seems to really love this blouse but I have never been a fan of it--I think the color is the problem and I don't feel it really flatters Mary. In fact I think the color washes her out. However, I can feel a bit of like for it paired with this deep brown--I don't think I'll ever love as Mary seems to do though. Oh dear, it's bootie season. I think they are great with trousers and jeans but rarely like them with a dress or skirt. The fact that Mary has them paired with a very long skirt that is the same color helps as do the dark colored tights. Given the rainy weather I can understand she perhaps did not want to wear heels and deal with cold, wet feet but...at least this pair has block heels which I find I like better.

This is a beautiful outfit. The skirt and jacket fit beautifully, very elegant. Love the boots, they work well in this instance. Lovely to see her brooch, very effective. King Frederick looks great in this well fitted suit.

ReplyDeleteYes I also saw that Q Mary always has very long pointy nails. I do not like it either. Well they do not have to work with their hands and with all the false nail types which can be bought they can change the length and shape of their nails regularly. Also very red or very dark nails, I don't like especially on an older person like myself. These colors draw the attention to my hands and on my hands one can see that I am not young anymore. If I have to wear nail polish for special occasions, I always choose a light pink, or glossy white, or a silvery light color,.... During the week I sometimes wear transparant nail polish to protect my nails against accidents of all kind.
DeleteForse il marrone non è il colore di Mary, ma il completo è bello e le sta bene. È invece un no allo stivaletto corto alla caviglia comodo perché ha un tacco quadrato, ma quel pezzo di gamba che si vede spezza la figura. Quel tipo di stivaletto sta bene solo con jeans che sfiorano il bordo o pantaloni che lo coprono.

Dressen är inte tilltalande på något sätt.En trist brun färg och lite teateruppsättning över klädseln.Ett modernare snitt hade varit mer att önska.Mary verkar ha avmagrat på sista tiden,men det kan vara Photoshop kanske.

ReplyDeleteWhilst the skirt suit is nice the outfit really needs a Iittle colour, the blouse is insipid and the hair band reminds me of a stretch bandage but it serves no purpose.
ReplyDeleteHowever I wore all sorts of brown myself when I was younger, I do not like this color anymore. I do not like the combination with the blouse which Mary used to wear in the past too. With a skirt which is too long it is good to wear leather boots until under her knees instead of these booties.
