On Tuesday, 13 October 2026, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene officially inaugurated the new Ida Nursery, located within the Héméra state-owned residential complex. Opened on 2 September 2026, the Ida Nursery has a capacity of 30 children across an indoor area of 700 m², complemented by a 140 m² terrace. The new facility is part of a joint initiative by Monaco City Hall and the Monegasque State to anticipate early childhood care needs through to 2030. For the occasion, Princess Charlene wore a blue wool suit by Max Mara.

  1. Just wow! Charlene looks gorgeous in this blue suit--and the shade of blue is marvelous on her. Then Charlene with the beautiful little girl who presented her with flowers and became her new best friend--totally adorable. Its also adorable how this cute little redhead was also interacting with Albert. Next its Albert with a little tow-headed baby who seems captivated by him. But, the best at the end--Charlene on the floor playing with precious curly haired brunette little girl. 100% win for the Grimaldis today and I'm thinking its a 100% for this new nursery.

    1. Hi Janet, “tow-headed” I think is american English? I’ve seen it in old novels but not in modern day use. It is still used?

  5. A beautiful colour on the Princess. She loves children she comes alive with them. A true natural around them.

  6. Perfect suit giving her the flexibility to bend over. Love her hair this length. She glows around children.

  7. Not so convinced about the fit of this suit, but I do love this hyacinth blue colour for Charlene, which she has accented well with white (which I think is better than the light blue blouse and shoes worn by the model). Charlene's cheerful blue would appeal to young children, so it was a very thoughtful choice.
I do hope to see Charlene in more of these colours which are neither pale pastels, nor super bright and strong, but somewhere in the middle . Lyra

    1. I agree Lyra. Nice colour but it doesn’t fit her extremely slim silhouette.

  9. Beautiful suit although compared with the model, the jacket is oversized on Charlene. Looks like a different suit almost! I hope (against a very poor history of rewearing anything) that she gets a lot of use out of it. Flat shoes look so much better with trouser suits and I’m glad to see tall Charlene showing this.

    2. Hmm I like them because they are flat but perhaps they are more like slippers, not much shoe actually there

    P. Charlene is in her element, she clearly enjoys being with children.
This Is a truly flattering Max Mara pantsuit, not just because of Charlene's athletic body structure but because it looks professionally adjusted to her actual measurements.
I doubt that she bought it off the rack, it most likely is a customized number.
My only and minor quibble is the trousers length, a bit shorter hem would be my preference.
The iris colour is striking, very effective , and it beautifully compliments her blonde hair and fair skin tone, too.

    1. Das sind Roger Viviers, eigentlich sehr elegant, diese sind allerdings ganz ohne Absatz, was etwas salopp wirkt, zumal die Hosenlänge wohl für höhere Absätze gedacht ist.

    2. I actually like that they are flat but find them not particularly attractive. They don’t look easy to walk in, like they’d slip off.

  15. They’re not odd, they’re are worn to keep the floors clean and protect the children from dirt as they play on the floor.

    1. I think one of the commentators used the word "odd" in reference to the Charlene's flats with a buckle and not to the cover shoes, she and Albert wore.

  17. The Princess looks amazing! The color and cut of the suit fits her perfectly!
The images of her with the children are just too adorable.
I like that they had them cover their shoes! It irks me to see adults wear outside shoes in areas where children play on the floor.

  18. Tegenwoordig zie je te veel broekpakken, deze staat niet mooi vanwege de extreme schoudervullingen.

As always, Princess Charlene looks stylish and beautiful in this shade of pant suit. But I can’t get as excited about the fashion today, as I am about the wonderful interaction of both Prince Albert and Princess Charlene with the children. These are just the best photos ever. The couple seemed downright sincere and having fun. Well done!!

  22. Beautiful color but the jacket is too large/long and the style of the flats doesn’t work. A pant suit never looks good with flats, but the design should be simple.
