King Haakon delivered the Speech from the Throne on behalf of the Government and outlined its plans for the coming period. The Speech from the Throne is followed by the “Report on the State of the Realm.” It is an unwritten tradition for this report to be delivered by the youngest member of the Government. This year, Minister of Transport and Communications Kamzy Gunaratnam delivered the report.

Not a very good outfit for Princess Ingrid: weird headband with bows, ill-fitted top, a long skirt, which one would expect to see on Sophie, DoE.

Nur ein Gedanke, könnte die Bekleidung von ihrer Mutter stammen? Denn welche junge Frau hat Trauerkleidung im Schrank?

It probably has to do with the period of sorrow which they are still in (I refer to the long skirt). I guess she want to look proper.

I on the other hand love what she’s wearing. They are still in mourning, their dress code is sombre and below the knee. She looks beautiful. There is nothing to criticise. There is also no comparison to Sophie! Long hemlines do not all come back to one woman! - they are a choice, and in this case, to do with a double mourning.

She's so young- only 22. She is doing a fabulous job. Let's try not to criticize. She's been thrust into this and was a student just a short time ago. I applaud her!

She is in a period of mourning for her Grandfather, Princess Astrid, and little Wilma the rescue pooch of Astrid's. This is what they wear, mourning clothing, especially on official duties.

Anon. 18:51. Her mother has slightly bigger body proportions than Ingrid, so it wasn't a good choice too wear her mother's clothes if this is the case. Ingrid has already demonstrated a few mournful outfits that looked very good on her, she could have repeated one of them.

What an enormous change for Ingrid Alexandra these last months. From happy go lucky Sydney student, to the string of serious and extremely sad family events, and the responsibilities of her new role. I admire her very much and hope she can get back to being a carefree student very soon.

Yes, she did not have time to enjoy her student life but she seems to handle the bad situation very well. Wonderful young lady. Wish her strength and happiness.

Yes, I have a 21 year old college student and know they are just getting into adulthood finding their bearings. This is a huge change in this time of life all while mourning her grandfather and having her mom having just gone through (and probably still in) a fragile health situation. I'm hoping everyone gives her space and is kind.

So many big changes in Ingrid Alexandra’s life in a very short time: last year she ws studying in Australia and led a free students life.
She looks splendid today and very mature.

She is still wearing mourning clothes, so feel no comment is needed.

I do like her headband, much better than wearing a hat. Perhaps her outfit has been borrowed from her mother’s closet. The last few months have required a different type of wardrobe which I am sure she has not had the opportunity to build. I think her outfit is okay, and she knows her role, and she may not be able to be AS carefree she is accustomed to, but still have fun.

21:25. Not a poor posture, but a young woman thrust into a big role, doing a superb job. Why would you criticise her most especially for part of her body?

I wish Princess Ingrid Alexandra a lot of courage. Putting her studies on hold, replacing her mother who is still recovering from her lung transplant and accomplishing her duties without being prepared, it must not be easy. This is the other side of being a CP. Not the gala dresses and state banquets, not the festive events, but the mourning clothes and being prepared to duties she didn't had to do before and she is doing it with dignity and a strong feeling of duty.

Anon.22:10. What makes you think, she wasn't prepared to her new duties? Her mother and late grandfather had very poor health for a long period of time and it was clear that it wouldn't get better. So she was supposed to get ready to step into the role of a Crown Princess.

Ingrid is not replacing her mother. She was always supposed to attend if that's what you mean.

She has been preparing her whole life, she just now has to step in. This is not a surprise or foreign to her, she is a mature 22 years old and it shows.
Yes she was away from Norway to study but was fully aware that would change with her grandfather being ill over the last few years and his advanced age. Fantastic choice in dress.

I just wanted to say that everything has changed in a short time. She just finished her military service went to the university of Sydney. Could not return there to finish her studies because her mother's chirurgical intervention was coming up. Queen Mette Marit was not recovered yet and the King died. Princess Ingrid Alexandra had to coop with everything in a short time. Lucky she did already military service which is a good training for someone who has to face duties all of a sudden. Sometimes people think that queens and princesses have a wonderful life, but I am glad I do not have to do what they have to face sometimes. After all the CP is a human being too. If she had known in advance that her grandfather was going to die, she could have stayed in Norway instead of travelling to Sydney.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra looks sombre and dignified in black and pearls. It is still Court mourning for the entire family and King Haakon correctly wore a black mourning band on his left arm since he was in uniform. Ingrid knows very well that it is her father, as head of State, who is the centre of attention, not her. This is the opening of the Parliament, not a fashion show.

Ingrid looks appropriate for the ceremony in her mourning attire. I am sure she completely understands exactly what to wear. I also feel that borrowing from her mother's closet makes more sense than rushing out to buy a closet full of mourning attire. I think she looks fine in this suit. Ingrid has been outstanding and very admirable during this very difficult time.
