On 29 September 2026, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands attended the annual congress of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG) in Lichtenvoorde. This year’s theme is “We Do It Together”. During the plenary programme, Queen Máxima, in her capacity as Patron of the Oranje Fonds, delivered a speech on the importance of social initiatives.
Queen Máxima subsequently spoke with local government officials and municipal councillors about cooperation between municipalities and social initiatives. The VNG Annual Congress is taking place on 29 and 30 September in the Achterhoek region, with Oost Gelre and Winterswijk serving as host municipalities. The congress focuses on cooperation between municipalities, residents, civil society organisations and other levels of government.
QM attended an important conference where many were smartly dressed—both due to their official roles and because Her Majesty was due to make an appearance—yet she showed up in a baggy, crumpled suit with a messy hairstyle; I am speechless—it was truly beyond casual.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they went to listen to her speech. The pants were a little wrinkled no great tragedy. The blue and brown looks fine. I don't think her hair is that bad either. Just my opinion.
DeleteWhile I like the camel/navy colors here, I find this color on Maxima not very attractive. Of course her lack of hair styling is probably contributing to the overall bland look.
ReplyDeleteYes you are right, she should pull that hair into a ponytail - no extension pls for everyday business - but just listen to her speaking, watch her demeanor, her brains, her engagement and the smile she gives to all this. This is why her weaker points like the hair - well I couldn't care less, because of her personality.

ReplyDeleteLove the Navy color, top and bag, especially her bag, I find this very attractive. I have always liked the Queen wearing Navy. The brown tone combined with Navy is a very interesting combination. One I would never have put together. Personally, I don't like this shade of brown. The Navy combined, I confess to not liking the combination. Regardless, the Queen obviously does, that's all that matters. Her blue stone earrings are of substance.
ReplyDelete@19:36- I totally agree. To me it shows a complete lack of respect to those attending to turn up looking so unkempt, IMO! No lectures on her personality, I have no first hand experience to judge that and doubt if many commentators do.
