The Danish Royal Court announced on Sunday, September 6, 2026, that Queen Margrethe II of Denmark had been admitted to Rigshospitalet after feeling unwell. The Royal Palace reported that a new blood collection in the hip region and mild dehydration had been diagnosed, and that both conditions were being treated.
Queen Margrethe is in good spirits and, considering the circumstances, is doing well. Queen Margrethe is expected to remain in hospital during the coming week for both observation and treatment. This means that Queen Margrethe will unfortunately be unable to attend the funeral of King Harald V in Oslo on Wednesday.

Her colors are very patriotic especially our colors in the US. She has always been so active pursuing her activities, such as decoupaging, and the theatre. Sorry she is going to miss the funeral. I remember that she would go to Norway yearly to ski with the Royal family!!!
ReplyDeleteI know that Q.Margarethe would have wanted nothing more than to attend K.Haralds funeral, but such is life. My best wishes to her for a quick and full recovery.

ReplyDeleteAll these old kings and queens and former kings and queens are disappearing slowely but surely. I remember they were always there when I was a young adult until now that I am old myself. Their children and grandchildren are preparing to be king or queen themselves one day, in a changing world were nothing is the same like it was used to be. They say that little countries will disappear and will be part of a bigger country in the future, or that 2 or 3 little countries will be united into one bigger country. Maybe I will not be there anymore to see all these changes, but I hope our young and mid-life princes and princesses will still be able to become the new generation of kings and queens. I wish them strength and good health and brains to lead their country like their parents always did, but in an adapted way which will be necessary in a new world.
