On 11 September 2026, Crown Princess Kiko, the wife of Crown Prince Akishino, celebrated her 60th birthday. To mark her birthday, the Imperial Household Agency released new photos of the Crown Princess. Princess Aiko visited the Akasaka Estate, where the residence of Prince and Princess Akishino is located, to offer her congratulations to Princess Kiko.

ReplyDeleteMaybe you could consider differences in culture and tradition between nations before you emit judgements like this. Or maybe you think awful plastic "happy birthday" garlands and colourful balloons are somehow less fake looking objects to look at?

紀子様はパラグアイ訪問の前にニャンドゥティを勉強し、作品を作っていたそうです。
日本人にとって６０歳の誕生日は特別で、人生の節目としてお祝いする習慣があるのですよ。

I have to chuckle at the photo where the prince seems to be asking ‘what is this thing. Both Kiko and Aiko look so elegant. Dressing up to wish someone happy birthday , what an honour.
