On Tuesday, 29 September 2026, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited the province of Liège. Their programme began at Le Bercail, a day and residential centre in Liège for adults with intellectual disabilities. The King and Queen viewed the memorial wall, La Cabane du souvenir, and an apartment adapted for people with reduced mobility. They also took part in an art workshop, creating a collaborative artwork with several beneficiaries.
The King and Queen then travelled to Place Saint-Lambert (Espace Tivoli) in Liège, where they met with members of the local community. They later visited the Val Saint Lambert crystal factory, which is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year. The visit concluded with a glassblowing demonstration in the workshop.

ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde is wearing a colorfull dress on a beautiful sunny day in Liège (Belgium) with max. t° in the afternoon of 28 - 29 degrees C. Since I cannot see a photo in full length of the dress (or 2 piece) Queen Mathilde is wearing, I don't remember how it suits her. I know it is a rewear but I don't remember where the queen wore it before. I also like King Philippe's cognac and black tie. I see Queen Mathilde is wearing her engagement ring again (a rubis in the middle and diamonds on each side) in yellow and white gold. I prefer this ring than the saphire ring she often wears, because the engagement ring is a very special creation. She also wears her bracelets she rarely takes off. The golden chain with gem stones in a hart shape in different colors and the yellow golden bracelet Queen Paola gave to her with two gem stones each in a different color. Princess Claire received the same but with two gem stones in 2 other colors. Queen Mathilde also wears her golden Rolex on the same arm as her bracelets and ring. On her right hand she only wears her wedding ring. It is said that people who wear their jewelry on their left arm do it to have their right hand and arm free, if they must sign or write something during visits and also shaking hands, I can imagine is much easier. Her "golden" earrings are modern fantasy earrings. I also see her wine red clutch laying on the table and she has shoes on her feet I didn't see before or they are maybe old rewear too. Queen Mathilde is always willing to make a drawing with handicapped people or children. Outside the people of Liège were awaiting the king and queen to shake hands with them.
ReplyDeleteQ. Mathilde's dress (or maybe it's a two-piece) has a psychedelic print which reminds me the outfit that Q. Maxima wore to an art exhibition recently.

ReplyDeleteThe print of this outfit is a bit wild and hard on the eyes. I would get dizzy if I had to look at it for more than a few minutes.
ReplyDeleteI don't think this print is in any way attractive. It looks like a cheap tie dyed t-shirt for sale at a beach shop.

This print is too much on a dress. Maybe if it were just on a top paired with a solid-colored skirt or pants I would like it better.

I like Queen Mathilde's dress. It has the colors of the autumn but can be worn on a sunny day in late september. The queen has other dresses in the same shape . A dress model which suits the Queen very well.

ReplyDeleteWhat a marvelous organisation, the programs mentioned, very insightful and supporting the community perfectly. The needs and learning met here well. From what I can see the Queen looks lovely, bright, vivid colors. Her bracelets love to see her wear them, lovely. What I have noticed about the Royal couple, they dont just go through the motions, they take a keen and direct interest in their visits, this being one. There interactions and facial expressions, especially listening intently. I'm no expert, just my observations, but I find it quietly very impressive. They do such good work.

ReplyDeleteI adore the print , but not the style. Full length standing pics show a ruched seam in the front of the skirt which I feel overcomplicates any dress with a pattern - and reveals a lack of structure in the top, which could be designed to be much more flattering. Lyra
