Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida are making a three-day state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnam’s President Tô Lâm. On 15 September 2026, Vietnamese President Tô Lâm and his wife, Ngô Phương Ly, hosted an official dinner at the Tonkin Palace (Government House) in Hanoi in honour of King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida.
For the occasion, Queen Suthida wore a golden-yellow Thai Dusit dress. Her accessories included the Chakri Diamond earrings, a gold braided belt featuring the Chakri Diamond emblem, and a silver niello gold clutch from Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, adorned with the royal initials “S.T.” in white gold and set with 408 diamonds with a total weight of 4.80 carats. The pieces are from Jasmina Collection.
On 16 September 2026, King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida of Thailand visited the Bac Son Martyrs’ Monument and the Mausoleum of former President Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, where they laid a wreath and stood in silence to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs. The Bac Son Martyrs' Monument is a national war memorial located on Bac Son Street in Hanoi.
On 16 September 2026, King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida visited the Thai Cultural Centre at Hanoi University in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to observe its activities and operations.
I have never seen her wear a sleeveless dress, very well toned arms, beautiful!

ReplyDeleteSuthida is the best dressed royal IMHO!. I seem to love everything she wears. The evening gown is magnificent. A perfect combinations of style, elegance and evening glamour. The second outfit, the beige suit is a classic style with a modern flair by adding the contrasting fabric for the sleeves. And the last one, the black and grey print outfit is superb and fits perfectly.

DeleteI agree with you Sandra. I also think Queen Suthida is the best dressed royal. I would love to know the designer of her black patent court pumps. They have a more luxurious look than many of the court pumps we see on the royals. You can tell they are not Christian Louboutin's.

If a West European queen or princess should pay a visit to one of these countries like Vietnam and would wear an evening dress like Queen Suthida with a low neckline and bare arms, she would receive a lot of bad comments on this blog. Like not respecting the religion and cultural traditions of the country they visit.

Personally, I don't care much about the clothes, especially colourwise and the details every time (the front of the skirt of the golden dress; the sleeves of the suit). But the jewellery, the hairstyles, the clutches: very nice! Looking forward to seeing more.

I generally love looking at the royals and love the fairy tale ness of the clothes and tiaras, but the fact is the Thai king represents a country where people are not allowed to say a word about him and where there remains deep poverty.

Laws protecting the King are similar to the laws protecting the US President, which prohibit insulting, defaming, threatening, or slandering the royal family. However, Western media creates fake news claiming that this law forbids criticizing the monarchy. Furthermore, poverty exists in every country. The country is governed under a democratic system with the King as Head of State. The administrators are the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, not the King. The King holds the status of Head of State and does not involve himself in politics. You should study and seek correct knowledge before expressing an opinion.
