French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron are making a two-day State Visit to Spain. On the evening of 29 September 2026, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain hosted a gala dinner at the Royal Palace of Madrid in honour of French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.
For the occasion, Queen Letizia wore a light blue gown by Carolina Herrera, one of the brands belonging to the Spanish group Puig, which was loaned to her. Queen Letizia’s chosen design is a long crepe gown in the shade known by the brand as “Cloudy Blue”. She completed her look with the Floral Tiara and the earrings from the Queen’s wedding jewellery collection.

QL never disappoints. Yes she wears the same set of five jewels but she brings it. Love the color on her and also, kinda glad to see her in high heels again!
ReplyDeleteWow! Letizia at her best.
ReplyDeleteYes. Elegant Letizia, beautiful dress. I also like Brigitte Macron's outfit.
DeleteA beautiful evening dress by Carolina Herrera. It is a cape dress which doesn't make the wearer broader. It falls very good and the light blue color suits Queen Letizia very well. The illusion of a shoulderless dress is fashion these days. The dark lace embroidery is outstanding. I see the queen is wearing sandals on her feet with thick "plateau" soles.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress
DeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is fine but I really missed seeing the Spanish Floral Tiara. Mrs. Macron and her usual look. Nice hair. The men look good.
ReplyDeleteIn many royal houses, when the incoming visit is a president and the first lady, the queen doesn't wear her biggest tiara. They do that because first ladies do not wear or do not have tiaras.
DeleteThis IS the Spanish Floral tiara actually.
DeleteEvery time I hear of an upcoming Spanish state visit I get really excited. It’s rare for them to have tiara moments when compared to other monarchies.
ReplyDeleteI think Queen Letizia looks lovely here. The color of her dress is beautiful and the cape style is very regal. The Spanish floral tiara pairs well with her gown’s flower embellishments. My only issue here is the red sash. It’s too big and distracting on her.
The sash is not fashion, It is an obligation.
DeleteExactly, my thought! I realise of course that the red sash goues with an order and it's an honour to wear it but in fact it spoils the gown :-(.
DeleteThere will be another state visit from Spain next week when QL and KF will visit Finland. Interesting to see what tiara QL will choose then.
DeleteVery elegant dresses on both ladies here, (SaF).
Two very beautiful gowns in two different styles. However when worn side by side, one looks too much and one looks too little. However, I reiterate that both dresses are beautiful, and are worn by two women who can carry their individual styles very well.

She truly looks regal in this CH dress, so feminine. madame Macron lovely in her structured dress, suits her so well.
ReplyDeleteJ’adore la robe et les bijoux de Letizia, elle est gracieuse. Je n’aime pas le tissu d’aspect "aluminium" sur la robe de Mme Macron. Josée.
ReplyDeleteI like the Queens gown very much. The fit and color suit her and the dress and tiara coordinate nicely.

Letizia looks so elegant. I like how the floral detail at the top of her gown mirrors the beautiful floral tiara. I am intrigued by the glimpse of her shoes - they look like open-toe platforms. Felipe also looks quite handsome in his formal evening wear.

Exactly my thoughts.
DeleteI think that's the prettiest dress I've ever seen. Love that color blue and Quuen L looks so beautiful in it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gown on Q. Letizia and the choice of tiara is good (flowers in tiara coincide with the flower applique of her dress). It's a pity that P. Leonor didn't attend the banquet, there were no obstacles for her not to do this. Younger royals like P. Ariane of the Netherlands and P. Eleonore of Belgium have already done that.
ReplyDeleteLeonor is at the University, she needs to study now.
DeleteIn Belgium the princesses attend sometimes banquets when they are not abroad at a university but at home during the holidays. When they are abroad to study they couldn't attend either and they have learned during their education that studies and duties come first and pleasure afterwards.
DeleteYou really want to tell us she has no workethic - one day the sun will show us your work.
DeleteAnon. 13:22 Leonor is studying in Madrid and not abroad like her sister, and it's not exam session yet. So she could easily attend the banquet, which is not only about pleasure but also part of an official engagement of her parents. Spending a few hours at the banquet wouldn't greatly interfere with her studies. Attending university didn't prevent Princess Amalia of the Netherlands to participate in the state banquets.
DeleteI do not miss the years when Letizia used to wear gala frocks with exactly the round high neckline that Mme Macron is wearing. Usually with matching short sleeves - what I always think of as the "t-shirt" silhouette, so trendy then. It is the all-purpose neckline many airline companies use in the uniform for their flight attendants. If Mme Macron's dress didnt have the silver fabric and was made to knee length, her white dress would not be distinguishable from her smart day wear.
ReplyDeleteFor me, this design is certainly dignified, and a staple in her wardrobe -- but it's also very restrained and business-like for an evening gown. It reminds me of what the Japanese royal ladies might wear on gala nights.
I like to see gowns with glamour and mystique on tiara occasions. Letizia's dress is all that and more. Completely captivating. Lyra.

DeleteMme Macron is true to her style. Her evening dresses are all in column style. It is a clever choice from her as she is short and has already a certain age. A column dress gives the impression of a longer silhouet. Of course if you stand next to King Felipe the majority of the ladies must feel very short. I like Mme Macron's white dress and her clutch looks like it is made of the same fabric like her dress.
I cannot remember the last time I observed the Queen looking so radiant. She was glowing. What a beautiful gown, this looks outstanding, the style, and design, perfect fit.
ReplyDeleteSome of the CH gowns worn by various royal ladies I have not liked of late, but this gown worn by Letizia is the exception. I love the contrast darker color lace is very effective, not too much just enough, this shade of blue is beautiful. I love the lace application across the top of her gown color and intricacy. The sleeves, this looks divine, floating, feminine and elegant. The back of her gown, saw a photo elsewhere equally as lovely as the front. Her red sash, perfection!
Her diamond earrings are so beautiful, wonderful size on the larger size, of substance and glistening. Her tiara, splendid. Love her up style, makeup is on point, divine.
The First lady equally beautiful, wonderful gown, lovely style, she looks so elegant. I love her hair up style.
The men look very debonair and well groomed/attired.
Thank you for expressing everything I was going to say! Obviously, I agree with you 100%. Janet
DeleteWonderful dress on Q L, mrs Macrons dress also nice!
ReplyDeleteQuel joli haut sur la robe ciel de la reine. J'aime beaucoup. La robe de Madame Macron est moins convaincante pour moi avec des bandes de différents tissus. mais le blanc reste beau.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful prisesse.
ReplyDeleteI don't miss anything, nothing too much or too little for me, not even the cape thingy which I usually dislike, because this cape does not hide her beautiful figure. I am extremely happy with both gowns. Madame Macron usually wears "closed", no-skin gowns, which is very understandable, I'd do the same in her age when one's skin is not really what it used to be and she excels in this discipline really.
ReplyDeleteLetizia est fabuleuse, Mme Macron est toujours élégante sans en faire trop
ReplyDeleteThe dress os very similar to the One wore by Astrid of luxembourg recently. Love ir, absolutly spectacular.
ReplyDeleteYou mean Princess Astrid of Belgium. She wore a pink dress by Oscar de la Renta with the same no shoulders effect like Queen Letizia.
DeleteToutes les deux sont bien élégantes ; qui pourrait confirmer le nom du couturier de madame Macron peut-être Louis Vuitton ?
ReplyDeleteInteresting that QL dress was loaned to her. Which is a brilliant way of showcasing the label without paying the price. I wish more of our royal ladies took that sustainable approach to evening wear. The color is stunning. The tiara almost married up to the embellishment of the dress. 👌
ReplyDeleteMrs Macron does like a column style gown. But, they suit her so I suppose the question is, why change it!
Lowri.
Where is it stated the dress is on loan, I would be interested.
Delete2nd segment.
DeleteLowri.
Fabulous! Everyone looks AMAZING! I love the picture of Letizia showing off her cape to Brigitte! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteFor me this is one of the really outstanding royal tiara looks of … well ever. For me Letizia is perfection.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Simple as that.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy she is not wearing her big gun tiara: it truly dwarfs her., she looks just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteFor posture and poise, Mme. Macron and King Felipe VI (very dashing in the red decorations). dlh
