On the evening of Saturday, August 8, 2026, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, Infanta Sofía, and Queen Sofía arrived at Mía restaurant in Portixol, Palma de Mallorca for a private dinner. They were also joined by Jean Henri Fruchaud, widower of Princess Tatiana Radziwill, a close friend of Queen Sofía who passed away last December.
King Felipe VI joined his family after attending the final day of the Copa del Rey Mapfre and presiding over the trophy presentation. For the occasion, Princess Leonor wore a patterned halter-neck dress by Spanish brand Babbaki. Infanta Sofía wore an ethnic-print dress by Desigual. Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor had previously worn the same dress as Infanta Sofía. Queen Sofía wore a silk blouse with matching wide-leg trousers by Zeus+Dione.

Beaucoup d'élégance chez ces dames sans oublier la couleur bleu lumineuse portée par le roi !
ReplyDeleteFour beautifull dressed women and a disapointing King.

DeleteOH! how do you find King Felipe disappointing?
For the family, it’s summer holidays, dress down time.
In fact, when he wears his casual outfits, I find him quite “nice” and I get a twinkle in my spine.
10:30 disagree on the “disappointing king” comment. But I’ll agree with all comments saying: how hard it must be to expect paparazzi every time you go outdoors. I know they’ll be somewhat accustomed but can only imagine it is nevertheless stressful and annoying. Especially when people then criticise their choice of outfits, when they are on a private outing.
DeleteThis is royal recycling at its best ie If I remember correctly the pretty dress
ReplyDeleteon Sofia has also been worn by her sister and mother.
The pattern in Leonor's dress is very appealing and Letizia looks great in her white dress.
I disagree with the comment that the king looks disappointing.
He is afterall on holidays and still hot in Spain from what I have seen on the news.
Cate.
Why is the king disapointing ? Please explain
ReplyDeleteA lovely look by all the women. Queen L looks great in the white dress.I especially love those gold strappy sandals, very elegant and comfy. Leonor’s backless dress, pattern and style just beautiful! Infanta Sophia’s dress is a re wear, not quite as nice on her as on her sister. That off the shoulder style accentuates her broad shoulders making her look a tad bulky. I love the former queen’s pant suit -a Greek design. A nice nod to her Greek heritage. The blue colours and broad stripes look terrific and I love that cute little purse slung to her side.
ReplyDeleteWow...lovely to see now that all three ladies (Letizia, Leonor and Infanta Sofia) have worn the same blue Desigual dress on three different occasions, and all three looked lovely in their take of it. The halter dress suits Leonor to a 'T', and Letizia looks stunningly casual and summery in simple white, which accentuates her glorious bronze tan. I like her sparkling sandals. They are the only embellishment needed for a beautiful overall look.
ReplyDeleteI also think that Queen Sofia looks smart in her matching suit. I only wish that the jacket had been slightly shorter to look less like pyjamas, and the trousers were slightly narrower since she isn't that tall, but she still looks good in it.

Best dressed: Letizia, but what else is new!

The Queen is perfect. The girls' dresses are fine. Leonor's clutch is a mismatch, imo.
ReplyDeleteP Leonor's curls are almost gone. P Sofia's dress is a rewear from her sister. It suited P Leonor better. Queen Sofia's pyjama is from the same Greek brand than Q. Maxima's light beige skirt and/or dresses. In navy the fabric is less to my taste. Queen Letizia in a white dress, again. Princess Leonor's halter dress is not bad and it suits her, but in a brighter color it would be more to my taste.
ReplyDeleteFinally King Felipe in a blue polo, the same blue as the shirts, he worn the previous days.
Actually that dress belongs to Letizia.
DeleteWhom the dress belongs - all three? Here Letizia 3 years ago: https://www.newmyroyals.com/2023/08/king-felipe-and-queen-letizia-hosted.html
DeleteA mother with 2 young daughters is used to share her dresses, handbags, jewelry with her daughters. Queen Mathilde does the same she shares the same things with her 2 daughters.
DeleteI love Letizia’s white dress with the gold sandals. Sofia’s dress style is not flattering on her with the wide horizontal fabric at the top. I would like Leonor’s dress better in different colors; these look too dark / muddy (although maybe it’s just the lighting).
ReplyDeleteAll of the royals look great for a summer dinner out and nice to see the family friend attend as well. The Queen is my favorite in white with the gold sandals and raffia handbag. Simple but perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe four royal ladies look wonderful! The Queen’s dress is stunning on her - it seems to me it should just appear as a boring white dress, but the impeccable cut and fit raise it to another level. And, her handbag is fantastic - a perfect summery accessory. The sandals are just the right finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteHRH P Leanor’s William Morris print dress is gorgeous on her. Love the navy espadrilles with it, and the hot pink bag picks up the same color in the dress.
The colors of HRH Infanta Sofia’s dress are very flattering on her, and her cuff bracelet is a great accessory. I might like the dress a bit better without the ruffle at the bottom, but the length of the dress makes it less noticeable. The white flat espadrilles make me want to look for a pair like them - so pretty on her and a perfect complement to the dress.
The interesting weave of HM Q Sofia’s outfit is striking - the jewel colors are beautiful on her.
The king, as nearly always, looks impeccable even in a sport shirt!
A side note - how lovely that they invited the widower of HSH P Tatiana to join them.
Letizia is just a summer dream. Simple, light, perfect. I find Leonor' dress also very nice, the allover pattern is small and decently coloured to not be overwhelming and allover is usually better accomodated on sleeveless dresses anyway. Sofia's dress is a big No for me, which is not surprising, it being from Desigual. It looks as if it was slowly slipping down on her body. It covers and hides her own proportions with this enormous horizontal "neckline" (on top of displaying this enormous pattern). Queen Sofia wears one of her sweet light signature summer pyjamas and so should she, she looks pretty, neatly hairstyled and well put together. The King never disappoints (except the white beard, but that's only me).
ReplyDeleteOnce again Letizia stands out due to her understated, simple elegance. Sophia's stripes and the young ladies whimsical patterns are very interesting and vibrant. They seem to swap clothes in true sisterly fashion.
ReplyDeleteLet them go to their private dinner uncritiqued. They’re on holiday.
ReplyDeleteDon't write then if you feel so. But stop telling us what we should do.
DeleteTheir pictures are published in the media just like every year because they are doing every summer vacation the same trip to Mallorca. The paparazzi know it too and so they are there waiting. The Spanish royals know what they can expect and are just smiling now and then continue their way to the restaurant and that's it. No harm done. If pictures are published in the media one can expect people (women) to critique the outfits of the queens and princesses, and of the king also. If the Spanish royals do not wish to be seen, they could arrange a restaurant where they arrive by car and step right into the premises (at the back of the building) . The owner of the restaurant can prepare a table for them separated from the other visitors.
DeleteThe Spanish royal family has always promote Balearic Island, they have a treat with the Government since ages ago, then they are gifted with ships...it is a performance.
Delete21:00 I didn’t tell you what to do. Although you have told me what to do. I was expressing my wish for the peace of this family.
DeleteThe blue and white dress. Letizia wore it best. The girls need to find their own style, not rewear their mom's dresses.
ReplyDeleteP Leonor has already developed her own style, which doesn't mean she cannot wear her mother's dresses now and then.
DeleteWhat's wrong with wearing your mom's dress? I think it's great that they can share clothes. They get more wear out of them rather than constantly buying new clothes.
DeleteThe Royal Ladies look great. Felipe should have worn a different shirt. Still, I hope they had a great time. Nice to see Q Sofia there as well.

I love the fact the young ladies are able to wear from their mum's wardrobe and successfully, Infanta Sofia looks lovely. Leonor looks good, I love the splash of color, pink clutch and Navy blue shoes. Letizia looks lovely in this white shift dress and flat sandals, elegant and subtle. King Felipe looks well groomed and attired, very handsome man/king.

ReplyDeleteLovely outfits for a warm summer evening. The young ladies are all grown up.. Q Sofia leaning into her role as grandma in picture 2.
