Not exactly a lung surgery, but lung transplant. MM has to be real careful not to get infections and such. She will be on sick leave the next year, but we will surely see her participate where she can. It's so heartbreaking seeing Sonja's pain. This was a real love match ♥️

You can almost feel Queen Sonja’s grief and sorrow. I pray she finds the strength to get through the days, weeks and months ahead. She has the love of a grateful nation around her. Let’s hope that brings her some comfort.

Sonja was married to Harald for 57 years and 364 days, this is the second day without him! How will she cope?

Et comment font face les autres femmes qui perdent leurs époux et en plus da s des difficultés financières. Il est bon aussi de relativiser les choses

Ingrid’s coat is perfect very classy. What comfort for the dear queen to have her grandson by her side. I sense they will all be of great support for one another in this loving family.

    1. According to another source I read, she was there. Her husband was not there, however, because he was recovering from surgery.

      RIP King Harald

    2. I read where Martha Louise's husband is in the hospital undergoing a kidney transplant. He issued statement about King Harald. I'm sorry I can't remember where I saw it.

Her husband just had a kidney transplant but maybe she will arrive for her father’s funeral.

Märtha Louise was actually at the Palace, receiving her cousins and showing them to the casket.

They do amazingly. There could have been no perfect timing to lose Harald, there never is, but I really feel for the family having Mette Marit still in early recovery from such major surgery, and these other things that cause enormous stress, then to have significant personal loss on top of that, plus the need to grieve and perform publicly.

They are stoic and dignified to be an example to the people of Norway that they will carry on from a much loved king. There is no shame or weakness to show sorrow, tears or grief in public, it makes them real.

They all seem so composed, collected and calm. What a wonderful family. It’s heartbreaking to loose a parent and even more such a special person like the king. I feel for them, I know how it is.
I was a crying mess at my mother’s funeral, even though she was not a queen of a country, she was the centre of our world. the pain was so raw and deep. I really admire their strength and unity and wish them well and time to grief.

Sometimes you just have to look beyond yourself and your grief for others.

Missy, I’m sad to hear about your loss, and I’ll be the same! I think the royal roles and protocol and support and expectations actually give them a structure that helps them turn up in emotional control.

      @ Missy
I don't t know you in person, but please, let me send you my heartfelt condolences and a big hug.
I experienced what you said, word by word.
Keeping focused on my Duty and work somehow helped me take control over my emotional self.
I particularly feel sorry for Queen Sonja, she looks devastated and yet so composed and dignified.
      Pluck up courage, @ Missy.
      Sincerely,

The end of an era. King Harold V was a kind and well-loved man. He lived by All for Norway. My condolences to the RF. I hope prayers will help Queen Sonja adjust to a life without the husband she loved for more than a half a century. The new King and CPss have enormous, big shoes to fill, hope they are up to the task. YM King Harold V Rest in Eternal Peace.

It is King HARALD. He has a Scandinavian name. Is it so difficult to copy the name of this great king correctly ? What is the English version you will use for his son King Haakon ?
