Duchess of Edinburgh visited the AFPST at the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead

On August 10, 2026, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Armed Forces Para Snowsport Team (AFPST) at the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead to mark the announcement of her appointment as Royal Patron. AFPST is an independent service charity that exists to support the recovery of wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans.

Elizabeth Winfield, the Armed Forces Para Snowsport Team’s Chief Operating Officer, welcomed the Duchess of Edinburgh and introduced her to the breadth of the charity’s programmes. At the Snow Centre, the Duchess watched the athletes train and also met the people behind the scenes, including coaches, volunteers and board members.
