On August 19, 2026, Queen Camilla attended the first day of the 2026 Ebor Festival at York Racecourse in York. Queen Camilla, who is the patron of York Racecourse, met with “unsung heroes,” including St John Ambulance volunteers and jockey Joe Fanning, as well as staff members and representatives from local charities.

Later, Queen Camilla presented the trophy to the winning owner of the feature race, the Juddmonte International Stakes. For the occasion, the Queen wore a blue dress by Anna Valentine and a bespoke navy blue hat by Philip Treacy. She also wore a butterfly-shaped diamond and sapphire brooch that was originally a gift to Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.

  1. Very much standard Queen Camilla. I really like this bright blue colour, which suits her very well, as well as the texture of the fabric and the unusual navy hat

This is a very nice look for Q Camilla. Really like this hat. Everything matching even the pin.

I adore this hat! the curve of the brim alone is so well considered...Philip Treacy's skill is extraordinary.
I am not a fan of this dress; but I like the cream trench coat for Camilla very much indeed, it highlights her hair colour beautifully. Lyra

I agree with the choice of the hat, but the feather is too much. I also agree with the light beige trench coat and the color of the dress but that is all. The dress on itself I do not like as most of her dresses.

I agree, I like the hat (maybe better without the feather) and the cream trench coat. I don’t love the style of the dress, but it is a good color on Camilla.

I love the style and colour of the outfit (for her, not for me) but best of all, I love her hat. The feather adds style and a bit of drama.

Love the hat. Blue suits her well and is a favourite colour. She had a good time at the races

The Queen looks great in light blue so the coordinated colors of the outfit and hat are very flattering. The hat seems a bit off on proportion, too high maybe, but I really like the feather detail. Gorgeous butterfly brooch.

Love Queen Elizabeth's brooch. The colour dress nice style frumpy. She looks like Joanna Lumley.

Interesting to see Camilla’s blue material up close where I think I see quite an airy weave. I love the English tradition of coat dresses as they are peculiarly English royal and that’s fun to observe, but I always think they look hot. Hence the observation of the weave. The hat is excellent; her hat choices always are.

  10. Camilla a eu le bon goût de se coiffer de cet élégant chapeau que je ne pense pas lui avoir déjà vu ; ravie qu'elle ait ressorti cette superbe broche papillon !

Yes, the BBC says that the king was unaware of the move untill last weekend. I think Harry couldnt live this fairly anonymous life in a country that differs so much from his own country. Well fodder for the awful tabloids in the UK

Hmmm 7:32 it will be interesting to see how that goes. They have a lot of apologies to make for the stories they have told, the exaggerations they have made in some cases too (eg Meghan’s curtsy to the Queen in the Oprah interview) - and made big money from.

I read it this morning on the news. I hope for them that everyone is so happy about that and I hope Prince Harry's family will be much stronger than before to face the bad comments which will undoubtly continue. I also hope that he is not just come back, but that the relation with his father the king is repaired. I think King Charles deep in his heart must be happy to have this part of his family nearby again. I understand Portugal was just a vacation hide away.

@Anon 7:32 - I find it difficult to believe “everyone is so happy about” their return. They have messed in their own mess kits to such an extent I sincerely doubt they will be welcomed back with open arms. If I were in the Royal Family and had to be around them, I would not trust their discretion enough to talk about more than the weather with them. I do feel sorry for their children - Harry and Meghan have not set up the most stable-seeming lives for them so far - and I hope this move will be positive for them, maybe help them have more connections with their UK heritage and family.

oh no! but if thats true its only because Harry wants the kids to have memories with their grandfather...

Looking at the first picture I thought "wow, a fresh, contemporary look', but then, without the trenchcoat, the (standard QC style) dress is letting the overall picture down despite the fact colours combine well

Raining and chilly in York yesterday, so Q.C dressed for it. Love the trenchcoat, hat is fabulous, the dress is a lovely colour and obviously a style she feels comfortable in.
Markle returning to a country she says she dislikes, money must be the reason, imo!

I am so happy for Harry. I think he misses his family and friends. I think Meaghan totally had him isolated in California. I don't think she'll stay for long. She will miss the chance to be Tv star.
