On the morning of August 19, 2026, Princess Kako met with the 61st group of Okinawan “Junior Reporters” at the Akasaka East Residence in Tokyo. The annual programme gives elementary and junior high school students from Okinawa the opportunity to experience reporting activities. This year, 35 students, ranging from the fifth grade of elementary school to the third year of junior high school, travelled to Tokyo.
The Imperial Family’s exchanges with the “Junior Reporters” began in 1963 under the Emperor Emeritus and were later continued by the current Emperor and Empress. Since the start of the Reiwa era, the programme has been undertaken by the Akishino family. This was Princess Kako’s second meeting with the “Junior Reporters”
On August 19, Princess Kako attended the send-off ceremony for Japan’s delegation to the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games at a hotel in Minato, Tokyo. During the ceremony, representatives of the Japanese team expressed their determination ahead of the Games, and Princess Kako applauded them. The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games are scheduled to open on September 19.

ReplyDeleteI've never liked lacey dresses. They look too bridal or tableclothy. The blue colour of the Celford dress is divine but the black belt looks out of place because it is too prominent. The white dress on the other hand is superb. It has some wonderful pleating on the bodice and sleeves. The slits on the wrists are also interesting.

ReplyDeleteThe blue lace dress is perfect, I only wish for a different pair of shoes. I am sure they are made for comfort, but a lower vamp would make a world of difference. Perhaps in a navy blue to match her belt. The lighter dress has a very interesting shape to her lower sleeve. Opens up the long sleeve nicely.
ReplyDeleteDe blauwe kanten jurk vind ik het mooist. De make-up in foto N° 9 is kunstig gedaan. Ik vind het wel raar dat de eyeliner in het onderste ooglid is aangebracht i.p.v. erop. Moest ik zo eyeliner aanbrengen zou ik onmiddellijk tranende ogen hebben en na een tijdje zou de eyeliner helemaal uitgesmeerd zijn rond de ogen. Het valt ook op dat er voor haar kapsel veel haarlak is gebruikt. Van zo dichtbij is het goed zichtbaar. In zijn geheel ziet de make-up er artistiek uit. Haar gezicht doet mij denken aan een Japanse pop of een beetje Geisha-achtig.

ReplyDeleteI don't like lace dresses, this one does not appeal to me, but the Princess looks stunning wearing it, I love the fact her shoes are white. Clever choice. Her interaction, communicating and engaging manner with the children is wonderful. Her 2nd outfit, stunning, I love this outfit! The yoke and neckline I find very appealing. The skirt of her outfit, from what I can see, appears to flair out, adding movement, again very appealing. I love her gold and pearl necklace, delicate. The pearls are a nice size, I like the spacing, very pretty necklace. Always a real joy to see her. She is a real jewel in the crown.
