Count Gregers Carl Preben Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille, the son of Count Michael Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille, married lawyer Cecilie Juhl at Kværndrup Church on the island of Funen in south Denmark. Gregers is King Frederik's godson. King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark attended the wedding ceremony at Kværndrup Church. The wedding reception took place at Egeskov Castle, which is owned by Count Gregers's father.

Cecilie Juhl wore the Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille Tiara. The exact origin of this diamond floral tiara is unknown, but it has been in the family since the 19th century, likely inherited from the Bilde family, from whom the Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille family inherited Egeskov Castle in 1882.

For the wedding, Queen Mary of Denmark wore her Diamond Necklace Tiara. The tiara, dating from around 1900–1910, was sold as a necklace made of diamonds, rubies, and spinels set in gold and silver, together with a pair of matching earrings, at Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen in May 2012. Both pieces were reportedly acquired by Queen Mary herself.

For the wedding ceremony, Princess Benedikte of Denmark wore her Diamond Floral Tiara. When Princess Benedikte celebrated her 18th birthday in 1962, she received this striking diamond floral tiara as a gift from her parents, King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid.

What a great dress, it fits well, is low key to let the bride shine. Perfect tiara to wear. The king is very handsome in a well fitted suit/tux

Princess Benedikte looks stunning in this two-toned gown. The draping is beautiful and dramatic. Also love her floral handbag for a summer daytime wedding.

The Queen may be wearing pale colors to not stand out, but I personally am not a fan of this dress. The wide sleeves are distracting and the neckline looks tight.

My favorite is the robin’s egg blue gown with the flowers worn by Countess Iselin. The color palette is gorgeous, especially on a blonde, and the purple handbag is a lovely touch.

Anon 21:07, she is not Iselin, but Princess Alexandra. Iselin is wearing that brown gown and standing in the middle of her father and brother.

Thank you for the clarification! This is not a royal family that I’m familiar with so appreciate help with identification.

A beautiful Wedding gown. Lovely young lady. Love the Tiara. I wish the couple all the happiness in the world. I must say Pss Benedikte's grandchildren are already adults have not seen them in a long time. Count Richard must have brought his girlfriend. Fredrik and Mary looked great. I do like Css Alexandras dress, lovely color. Sadly, not all of the Danish RF was there. But then it was not their day it belongs to the bride and groom.

Queen Mary looks lovely, as does Princess Alexandra. Both in rewears I think. Princess Benedikte is stunning in her dress and jewels. Does anyone know what sash Count Nikolai is wearing?

Beautiful wedding dress. It looks like the lace ‘jacket’ is removable revealing a strapless gown. The two tone coral dress of the princess B with the covered buttons is lovely.

Mary looks great! I think the tiara is nice and not overpowering for the occasion.
About Frederick, usually I am neutral about his looks, but today I think he is very handsome and attractive.

The only dress I like is the coral/salmon dress worn by Princess Benedikte. A pity she didn't worn a clutch in the same color as the dress. A part from the king and queen I do not know anybody of the guests, nor the bride and groom.

Love the bride's dress and he looks a handsome gent. As for the guests..i prefer the mens attire over the females. Sorry to all the people who like q mary's dress. She looks like a milkmaid or a old time pioneer to me. It's only my honest oplnion, other people obviously disagree and i'm ok about that.

Mary’s dress is pretty and nice colors for a summer wedding. Benedikte looks elegant and immaculate as usual. I really like the bride’s dress with the lace overlay, although I think it would look slightly better if the buttons on the front didn’t go down quite so far on her waist - maybe 2 buttons fewer.

  13. Mary looks incredibly lovely, what a feminine, pretty and elegant dress. Love the color of her accessories. This dress fits her well, I love the fall and pleating of her skirt of the dress. The back of her hair, up style was beautifully done, looked gorgeous. I have to see, I don't recall ever seeing Frederick look quite so handsome, well groomed and attired, he looks impeccable. I hope I am not overstepping! I feel he looks highly attractive and very handsome. He is aging like fine wine, if the rest of us could be so lucky !! LOL! They make a beautiful looking couple.

I know that I should know but could somebody remind me why the ladies are wearing long dresses, no hats and in some cases a tiara.
Most of the men seem to be wearing black tails and white bowties.
It seems to be a daytime wedding.
I’m curious and it would help me to know the dress code should I get a wedding invitation at a level lkie this. :-))

Danish norms. Hats at weddings tends to be very British.

Apparently the dress code is white tie so the men are wearing tails or uniforms and orders if you have them. White tie for women is long (gala) dress and tiara if you have one. Church service was probably in the afternoon and continued with an evening dinner and other festivities, dancing etc. This is a common wedding protocol among the upper classes in Scandinavia. Personally I think that Queen Mary´s dress does not quite live up to white tie level. It is probably made from excellent fabric etc but I am old enough to have worn similar prairie dresses in cotton during the 70s and therefor find the look too plain for the dress code. As I say, just my personal view.

That is one of the most beautiful bridal gowns I’ve ever seen. Perhaps the most beautiful. The lace is absolutely spectacular itself and in the way it sits as a jacket over the strapless dress. Queen Mary looks splendidly summer Scandinavian, with gentle colours, a really very simple dress design … fit for wearing to a midsummer outdoor party with bare feet and a flower crown … but dressed up with a tiara and attended to by an extremely dashing King.

La mariée est ravissante, comme toujours Mary est très élégante, la jeune Bénédicte est en chemise de nuit , soie mais on dirait de la doublure et des chaussures vertes? Mais chacun ses goûts

What a magnificent bride and somehow reminiscent of Brooke Shields as a young woman!
I don't know if it is just one of the bridal gowns current trends but I have noticed that some recent posts have been featuring royal or aristocratic brides wearing gowns inspired by the Princess of Wales's one.
The groom is equally good looking.
    Mention of honor for Q.Mary...stunning!
The subtle print of her gorgeous gown against a pale/ dusty rose background looks so feminine and classy.
What a distinctive, jaw- dropping look!
Her tiara is the best finishing touch.
Lovely ensemble on P. Benedikte as well, wonderful tiara and, by the way, she was a beauty as a young woman and still is!
The king looks perfectly groomed and attired.
