The Princely Hike is held in a different municipality each year. This year, the 2026 event took place in Balzers. The Hereditary Prince and Princess spent the day visiting Haus Gutenberg, Gutenberg Castle, the heliport, the old mill, and the old wine press, accompanied by the mayors and former mayors of the municipalities.

  1. J'aime beaucoup le couple héritier qui a su toujours fait preuve de discrétion ; pour cette occasion, leur tenue décontractée leur convient à merveille !

I don't remember Prince and Princess attending this type of event before, but I'm glad to see them. Princess Sophie looks nice. It's unusual to see her wearing a T-shirt, because, as I've noticed, royal ladies usually wear shirts with rolled-up sleeves for such type of engagements. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yes you are. When Queen Mathilde became 50 years old she walked and biked with the handicapped people of several regions in Belgium. I remember (it must not have been a very warm period) she wore a light summer jacket with a zipper and a T-shirt underneath. She wore long sport trousers and trainers. After a while she took the jacket off and biked further in her T-shirt. Sometimes she wore a sweater with a T-shirt underneath and when it became warmer she took the sweater off and continued to walk in her T-shirt. CP Victoria is wearing regularly all kind of mountain gear when she goes walking in nature. The princes and princesses of Belgium are running regularly in the Castle parc in Laeken in their sports gear, long or short trousers according the weather and T-shirts. Sometimes they are wearing zippered sports jacket when the weather is rainy or humid.
