On August 2, 2026, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh attended the final day of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The Duke and Duchess watched the judo events at the SEC Centre. Afterwards, the Duchess attended the medal ceremony following the netball gold medal match at the Hydro. The Duke and Duchess then visited Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow.

ReplyDeleteYou can choose the best fabrics and products and ruin the impression: Take a blouse with a collar that begs to be pulled and crumpled by the blazer with any movement of the wearer. What one sees are random pieces of white fabric. Sorry - it's a mess, at a strategically important, face framing position: under her face. The blazer is a tad too long for her, but better worn without the belt (like she does, the belt is awkward anyway). I am not convinced that blue pants are a good choice.
ReplyDelete6:10 I don’t find it a problem if a collar slips. Normally we all get our look right in front of the mirror, but while out things wrinkle a bit, slip a bit, move around. It’s normal and human. I don’t find her look remotely a mess. Just a beautiful haircut, blazer and fresh white collar that I wouldn’t have even noticed had slipped, it’s that minor. No impression is ruined here!
Delete@dear 11:13, it is OK if you are not disturbed by it. But I am and for me, it is a mess, caused by carelessly putting together one's outfit. It is for everybody clear that this slipping and crumpling is caused by motion, but it can be so easily avoided. You never see e.g. Letizia like this, even though she is moving at least as much as anybody else wearing a blazer. So sorry to say, but this is typical Sophie and I am the more disturbed by it because she is such a lovely person.

DeleteLetizia is not the example everyone else must follow. She also wears outfits which are not worn by a Queen.
@07:04: I did not imply that she is an example for everyone/everything, so please stop to do as if I did so. But for what to wear (and how) under a suit jacket, she can be a good example. Hopefully you can tolerate this opinion of mine without any further misinterpretation, thank you. I admire Duchess Sophie in many respects - her work, her face, her new hairstyle,. But not for her style. May I? thank you.

Good that they attended. The blazer and the pants don't look great together. Prince Edward in athletic gear.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket is too boxy for the wide legged pants. Thus the overall look isn’t stylish to me. An example of separates that might work on their own but with other pairings.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree with all the commenters here, her new haircut is taking ages of her face. This trend of overly long hair, despite all sorts of styling, draws the eye (and the wearer’s face) down so much, it inevitably makes the person look old. Just compare photos of the same person with the very long hair left down versus put up in any updo. Good for Sophie to figure this out.
