Ah Sophie looking so gorgeous with her summer hair cut and the pretty white lace blouse. Lovely autumnal colours of the jacket and trousers suit her colouring beautifully.

Sophie’s haircut really looks flattering on her. Not sure the green pants are a good choice, but it’s hard to tell since she is seated in these pictures.

Nice feminine blouse, clolour of the jacket and pants are very nice. Love her hair this length.

Duchess Sophie's hair is already combed the same way her longer hair was usually done. Why can't she comb her hair like the hairstylist did it. It cannot be that difficult since she is having a mid-length bob.

This is not a question of just combing it this or that way. The hair stylist sure made a blow dry, not just combed it. And if Sophie does not feel like doing a blow dry every day, then it looks like this. A bob is not low maintenance. It is not too bad anyway, much better than before, but she soon needs a new cut to it to avoid looking like growing her hair again.

16:40 I think the answer to your question is: she didn’t want to

To "Anon 17:32" Thanks for pointing this out. Often, people seem to think shorter hair is easier hair. It's not. Sometime it requires more work, and styling, than long hair. On this board we constantly hear people saying that, this or that person needs to cut their hair. It's not *that* simple.

anon 17.32 she is not popping to the shops like you or I she out representing the royal family, so bothering to do her hair properly is not a lot to expect. For sure she doesn’t need a professional blow dry, but as someone of her age with a similar hair style, I know if I take a little time I can make it look a lot better than if I don’t take that time. On a fashion note I do wish she would stop with these blazers/jackets that for me ruin so many of her outfits. LRB

20:55 I think this might be cultural. I too, like Sophie, consider clean and brushed hair to be completely acceptable, royalty or not. It doesn’t need to be teased, straightened, sprayed or full of product. She’s Royal / but that simply means she’s Royal, not that she needs to be perfect or perfected. I really love her current hair which I think looks fresh and natural, and I think that’s who she is.

A normal hair stylist always is doing a blow dry after washing people's hair. After the blow dry he finishes the look with his comb. I have short hair myself. I know when I am doing my hair myself it is not as good as the hairstylist is doing it. But when I have to go somewhere where I will meet many people I'll always try to make the most out of doing my hair myself.

I hope Sophie is able to keep her short do. It looked so cute.

A very nice look for the DoE…she looks tanned, and that blazer with white blouse looks cool and professional. On a side note , I do wish she would pin a brooch on her lapel.

A brooch would ruin the relaxed outfit she is wearing here. Any of the young royals are wearing brooches on any occasion. The D of E is looking great here. She can still wear young outfits.

@00:48, what is a "young outfit"? What is it about her outfit that cannot fit all ages? What is an old outfit? I beg to be enlightened.

Look around you and in the media to the outfits of young well educated women (not the teenagers). Look what they are wearing. At all ages never choose outfits in which you look older than your real age.
What the Duchess of E. is wearing here is excellent for many ladies of her age and for those who are a lot older like Queen Sonja of Norway, Queen Sylvia of Sweden, etc...
I hope you understood a bit more what I am trying to explain. It is a question of looking in the mirror and trying on different colours and different shapes and only pick out what really suits you. Better buy one outfit which really suits you and if you need another outfit f.ex. to go to a family reunion, wait a bit and do not buy too quickly something else. In every season there are dresses, coats, jackets, pant-suits which are fine for all ages, especially that most senior women can wear clothes which suits them and are also bought by younger women.

For me her hair is perfect, natural, clean, not styled, natural curl, frames her face nicely. What is not to like, love the length.
