On July 7, 2026, Princess Amalia of the Netherlands completed her assignment as a military working student with the Royal Netherlands Air Force. After the summer holiday, she will continue her training with the Royal Netherlands Navy as part of the Defensity College programme. She previously served as a working student with the Defence Staff and completed the General Military Training (AMO) programme.
Through her participation in the Defensity College programme, the Princess is gaining practical experience within the Dutch Armed Forces. Defensity College is designed to provide university and college students with meaningful part-time employment during their studies while strengthening the connection between the armed forces and society.
Brava Princess Amalia! Always good to see the next generation of royals honour the armed services by partaking in a course of participation. We’ve seen Elisabeth of Belgium, Lenor of Spain IA of Norway. Now we hear Isabella of Denmark will also take part in a training. I applaud them all!

They all look good doing it but how I fervently wish there were no need for them to go through military training. I so wish we were in continuing peace and not in a period of vile provocations and invasions by nations who should know much better, men who are warmongers who should not be in power.

DeleteOne tends to think that all these military trained princesses will be a force to be reckoned with in future when they take over the respective monarchies. Good for them, good for their countries. Same applies to the male heirs (like Christian of Denmark), too, of course.
