On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Grand Duchess Stéphanie, accompanied by Minister Eric Thill, visited the exhibition The Nature of Edward Steichen, which brings together a selection of photographs illustrating the artist's distinctive vision of the beauty of the natural world.
As part of the Rencontres de la Photographie festival in Arles, the non-profit association Lët'z Arles, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is paying tribute to Luxembourgish photographer Edward Steichen with an exhibition dedicated to his fascination with nature.
Following the exhibition, the Grand Duchess also attended the presentation of the book Edward Steichen – Nature on Stage, which explores this lesser-known passion of the artist and the important role it played throughout his work.
The pattern and the colours of Stephanie,'s dress are a question of personal taste and there are people who like it, so why not. But (for me at least) it is not just a question of personal taste that for such a pattern not to be totally overwhelming, the surface should be smaller: short or cap sleeves or even better: no sleeves and hem just under the knee. But worn as it is: a big No.
ردحذفThe second dress (looked up elsewhere) is a smaller floral print green-only on white background and illustrates part of my above point (10:24) nicely: cap or double-cap sleeves, smaller unicolor print. Were it not for the length, it would be perfect.

حذفThe reasons why I don't like this floral dress for Stephanie are too many to enumerate. Even if the design were totally different, the huge bright pattern would still take attention away from her warm, smiling face, and dominate her colouring and features.
ردحذفBy way of contrast, the white printed maxi-dress Stephanie is wearing in the last photo, (from what we can see) looks light, graceful, and summery, with a touch of Grecian goddess which I think Stephanie channels effortlessly. It's a charming photo. Lyra

I agree. The first dress is like something an elderly lady might wear. You just look at the photos and go ‘Why?’ The pattern completely overwhelms her. Second dress is much better

ردحذفBig floral prints are very bold. The yellow colour is even more striking. The print is hard on the eyes but it certainly makes Stephanie stand out in the crowd. That's a plus for royalty.

حذفI have a little more liking for her second dress here, the first one overwhelms her with the huge rose pattern. Also, her (golden?) hair clip has moved down the ponytail so that the elastic band became visible. It was not secured properly.
ردحذفOh golly, I love Stephanie but I am surprised to see her in this gigantic floral print; I thought that avoiding gigantic floral prints was a fashion rule universally understood by us curvy ladies.

ردحذفI guess only Queen Maxima could get away with this pattern because of her festive charisma and personality.
ردحذفI had relooked at several times and am leaning to not bad. I often wonder if it looks better in person than photographs. The colour are very bold which suits her. The length is good, her shoes are good. Being a curvy person myself I would not choose such a bold pattern, it does not present a good silhouette.

There’s a lot going on in this dress. The bold print and bold colors are almost battling it out for attention. Design wise,it’s a flattering shape,just needs to be taken up to just below the knee rather than it skimming on the ankle.

I like the colors - the bright yellow and green combo - but, it looks too much like a bathrobe. This is a no, for an outing. Maybe lounging around the house or a casual cathering of friends at home.

The dress doesn't fit her well, perhaps because the flowers are huge. A fail.
ردحذفI enlarged the last photo of the blue/white floral dress, imo this pattern, color and style of dress suits the GD better, but this is personal taste, obviously she likes the louder print and colors of the first ensemble, that is all that matters. With regards the first dress, I don't find the print, or colors appealing or the style of dress. The 2nd dress is more appealing, as I said above, I find it more attractive the overall look. The lady wearing the black dress and discreet light sprinkled floral print, pretty dress.
ردحذفIt’s a beautiful fabric and the colours suit her exceptionally well. Because the pattern is loud, the dress simply needs to end around about knee level so that the bold pattern is balanced out by enough skin tone.

ردحذفI love this first dress on Stephanie. She looks so bright and cheery and wonderful. Not sure I would like it on anyone else but it suits her beautifully.
