King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema, together with their children, Prince Jigme Namgyel, Prince Ugyen, and Princess Sonam Yangden, paid a two-day royal visit to Gelephu. On July 25, 2026, the royal family visited Sarpang Dzong and offered prayers. While in Gelephu, they met with people working on various projects within the GMC, as well as local businesses and residents of Gelephu.
