King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, together with Princess Ariane, traveled to Kansas in the United States to support both the Dutch national team and Curaçao’s national team, The Blue Wave. A former island of the Netherlands Antilles, Curaçao is now an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
On June 20, 2026, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, and Princess Ariane attended the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group E match between Ecuador and Curaçao at Kansas City Stadium in Kansas City. After the match, the Royal Family visited the Curaçao locker room to congratulate the team on earning their historic first-ever World Cup point.

Good sports to travel from Houston to Kansas straight after the match NL-SE in order to support Curacao on the same day as well (and all this more or less immediately ater their arrival in the U.S.A.).

Kansas city stadium is actually in Missouri. Picture 6 is the King and Queen with the Missouri Governor and his wife.
