On June 22, 2026, Queen Sofía of Spain inaugurated the 3rd International ALS Congress “Manolo Barrós” in La Roda (Albacete), bringing together international experts, researchers, healthcare professionals, and patient associations with the aim of promoting knowledge exchange, advancing research, and raising awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
The congress takes place on June 22 and 23 in the municipality of La Roda, in the province of Albacete, and is organized by the Queen Sofía Foundation and the CIEN Foundation. In the afternoon, Queen Sofía attended a reception hosted by the Town Council of La Roda at the San Sebastián Cultural Center.
It is good to see Queen Sofia here, in her nearly all white ensemble. The jacket looks on my device to have a very subtle shade of pink; I think it works better than if it were white. She is an elegant lady, I like the jewellery. ALS is a devastating condition to have; I know people who have passed away from it. I am glad Sofia is bringing attention to it.

Me too, I love the black and white dress. Well done to that lady! With the length of that dress and the Spanish summer, I think I would have preferred kitten heel sandals like Letizia wears or perhaps espradilles to the high heels which just look hot and uncomfortable,
