On June 12, Queen Sofía presided over the opening concert of the 75th edition of the Granada International Festival of Music and Dance, featuring a programme dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and performed by the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the direction of Zubin Mehta. The concert took place at the Palace of Charles V in the Alhambra.
During the intermission, Queen Sofía presented the Medal of Honour of the 75th edition of the Granada International Festival of Music and Dance to Maestro Zubin Mehta. Indian conductor Zubin Mehta served as chief conductor of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence from 1985 to 2017.
On June 13, 2026, Queen Sofía presided over the flamenco charity gala in support of the Queen Sofía Foundation, featuring the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet under the artistic direction of Patricia Guerrero at the Generalife Theatre. The Granada International Festival of Music and Dance marked its 75th edition from June 11 to July 12, 2026.

ReplyDeleteThe striped outfit looks so comfortable and elegant. When it gets older and more worn out It could do double duty as pyjama's or loungewear.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that I noticed is that the navy suit looks like pajamas, I like the other outfit better if only she was not wearing the worn looking shoes. Also, a different color would be just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe shoes are the new type of ballerina's which are fashion these days, perhaps Queen Sofia's are not new but a rewear of shoes she had before and are fashion again this summer.

The Greek brand Zeus+Aione uses this fabric in other colors than navy. Queen Maxima has dresses and long skirts from this brand in light beige, cream, ... colors which are looking much better than in navy.
ReplyDeleteOn Queen Sofia I prefer the white pants and the royal blue jacket.
I personally prefer the royal blue and white pants, not the white shoes, though. She looks lovely. The first outfit also reminds me of pyjama's but this outfit looks comfortable, so why not!
