For the occasion, Queen Mary wore a new red geometric-print skirt from Natalia Gomez Studio, a Spanish designer label, paired with a white silk wrap blouse by Jesper Høvring. The Queen also wore earrings, hair ornaments, a ring, and a bracelet from the ruby set in the Royal Collection, inherited by King Frederik from his grandmother, Queen Ingrid.

As Seen Below is a Skyspace and an artwork in the ARoS collection created by the American artist James Turrell. Owing to its scale, quality, and distinctive expression, Turrell himself describes it as his most ambitious Skyspace to date.

  1. This is a beautiful, elegant, subtle and simple outfit, I love it! Gorgeous, skirt and white shirt. I do like the v neckline of the shirt.
She has diamond and ruby hair clips in her hair, superb! This looks divine. Love the ruby and diamond earrings, they look beautiful. The red clutch looks good, on this occasion the white shoes work in well. Her hair back off her face looks lovely, her makeup is on point.
The lady in the long blue skirt and blue blouse looks beautiful, very elegant, again simple and subtle, but looks stunning. The blouse is so graceful and elegant. The skirt moves well, some give in the fabric.

Hereditary ruby as hair bling in a such a beautiful simple hairdo ... cannot be topped. - The skirt is not quite to my liking, not the A-line and also not the geometric pattern, but it's only me. To my absolute liking is one more terrific wrap blouse. And congratulations to Fred to an (at last!!) not too tight jacket - no more breast muscle display, here does the double breasted jacket the talking. Why the trousers have to kind of faint and collapse on the shoes - I don't know. Men's secret.

Very lovely, Danish colours. Her best jewellery, according to me. And I think she got the white/ish shoes right with this ensemble - and I think white shoes are rarely the right choice. I would however think a lower pair would look better as these ultra high shoes distend the leg and foot, so from my perspective lower would be the cherry on top for the otherwise gorgeous outfit.

I think Mary looks great here; the skirt has white in it so it works with the blouse which is a lovely style. The buttons at the cuffs add interest too. Her hairstyle is elegant; the pretty clip goes well with her lovely earrings.
I have to say though, I adore the blue dress (I think it's a dress, not a skirt and top) worn by the lady to Mary's right, or left as we look at the photo (photos 2,3,4) Beautiful material and design, especially the sleeves, and gorgeous colour.

At first I too thought the blue a fantastic dress but if you look down a few photos it appears a very difficult material to keep neat. As soon as the lady moved it badly wrinkles and looks quite different.

Oh it does wrinkle, doesn't it? I have to admit I didn't notice! Maybe not such a good choice after all.

I love everything about Mary's skirt, the pattern, colors and shape.
The crisp white shirt is perfect for the skirt.
    Lovely updo.

Cate - I agree that this skirt is absolutely fabulous! I love the saturated red color, geo pattern, and cut/length. Paired with the ruby pieces, it’s one of my favorite outfits from QM.

Q Mary can really put together an elegant blouse and skirt combination. Her slim waistline certainly helps, and the heirloom jewels!

  9. Très beau chignon avec de superbes ornements à cheveux ; je n’aime pas du tout le style des boucles d’oreilles !

Stunning look for Queen Mary! So elegant and deceptively simple. What I really love here is her use of the Danish rubies. These jewels are almost always part of a very formal appearance--think evening gowns, state dinners, etc. However, Mary is wearing the earrings (full chandelier style too), ring and bracelet to what is essentially just a dressy event. What a marvelous idea--and even better, she added the hair clips to her chignon. She looks beautiful, so polished, and regal.

Mary looks so nice in skirts, the colour is so Denmark. The blue/green/aqua dress is too tight, you can see how it pulls across the hips when standing. I much prefer movement in a skirt

This is how you dress like a Queen without being boring and wearing a royal "uniform". The traditional cream blouse and modern geometric skirt with the added touch of royal jewels in her hair, just perfection.
