On June 9, 2026, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain received the Board of Trustees and Scientific Council of the Lilly Foundation at the Palace of La Zarzuela in Madrid on the occasion of the foundation’s 25th anniversary. The Lilly Foundation was established in 2001 with the aim of promoting science, contributing to the improvement of medical practice, and fostering the values of humanism.
Through its various projects, the Lilly Foundation seeks to encourage reflection and debate in these three fields, recognizing the most innovative initiatives and launching programs that help accelerate their development. For the occasion, Queen Letizia wore a fuchsia silk georgette maxi dress by Hugo Boss.

Très rafraîchissante cette robe légère ; j’adore ce modèle d’espadrilles de la même couleur fuchsia !
ReplyDeleteSomething a bit different! I just adore this pink dress and matching espadrilles. Bright, cheerful and a breath of fresh air. The lovely material makes it suitable for an occasion such as this
ReplyDeleteI agree. I love seeing her in something more flowy and less fitted for a change. LRB
DeleteAlthough I like her new pink espadrilles, this dress is too casual for the circumstances. The rolled up sleeves together with the style of the dress and the espadrilles are excellent to wear during her vacation.
ReplyDeleteNext to King Felipe who is always dressed impeccable, she looks even more too casual.
Can 100% guarantee that the dress is not too casual. Letizia has so much experience attending events and meetings as a royal and is widely advised on etiquette and context . You may choose something else but we can be quite sure that she has it exactly right for her country and this context.
DeleteQL has a think for rolled up sleeves which I find so distasteful. It smokes the outfit look sloppy. Great look for walking the streets of Mayorka but not for this meeting. MR
DeleteMayorka?? Russia??....Mallorca?? Actually too much Heat in Palma to wear this dress.
DeleteThe King’s suit is perfect. The pink dress is fine too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pink color on the Queen, but wish she had worn the pink kitten heels shown in the bottom photo given the formal business attire of the event.
ReplyDeleteDe acuerdo contigo
DeleteThe Queen looks nice, but I am not a fan of the tiered look of the skirt of her dress. Aside of that quibble she looks lovely, the shoes are a gorgeous pink color I like them. The King looks well groomed and attired, always beautifully dress.
ReplyDeleteWow - this dress is gorgeous on Letizia! Style and colour are perfect for her, she looks so beautiful! But I also do think that the leather shoes on the last photo look better than the espadrilles.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous outfit for a holiday-day
ReplyDeleteRolled-up sleeves are not elegant for any lady in this setting and I do not understand why the queen of Spain does not get her sleeves altered by a seamstress. This look is sloppy.

I think the dress in itself is all right, but the espadrilles — though they match the dress, which helps — look inappropriately casual.
ReplyDeleteYou are the head of protocol of the Spanish royal family.....nice to meet you!!
DeleteA rare miss for Queen Letizia. She looks like she just returned from lunch with friends while on vacation. The pink heels she's wearing in the previous photo would have elevated this look perfectly. Literally every other woman and person in that room is dressed more appropriately and business-like.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree.
