King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on 19 June, but the Royal Couple began commemorating the special occasion six days in advance. A large number of royals travelled to Stockholm to take part in the celebrations marking the King and Queen’s golden wedding anniversary.
To the sound of Sinfonia da Chiesa—the same piece played when the Royal Couple walked to the altar in 1976 at Stockholm Cathedral—the celebrations began with a thanksgiving service, Te Deum, for invited guests in the Royal Chapel. Following the service, the King and Queen hosted a luncheon for invited guests at the Royal Palace.
On the occasion of the King and Queen’s 50th wedding anniversary, the City of Stockholm organized an open-air concert at Kungsträdgården, where King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia were the guests of honour. Described as “a musical journey of love through 50 years,” the concert was open to the public.
Among the members of the Swedish Royal Family attending the celebrations marking the King and Queen’s wedding anniversary were Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Oscar, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Ines, Prince Julian, Princess Madeleine, Chris O'Neill, Princess Leonore, Princess Adrienne, Prince Nicolas, and Princess Christina.
Among the specially invited royal guests were Princess Benedikte of Denmark, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, Princess Takamado of Japan, Prince Gustav and Princess Carina of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, and Prince Leopold and Princess Ursula of Bavaria.

Everybody looks so stylish. The Queen is a standout in red. But the winner is Victoria in this lovely butteryellow dress and beautiful hat.
