On June 11, 2026, Crown Prince Christian of Denmark was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant during the Lieutenant Training Programme’s commissioning parade at the Gardehusar Barracks in Slagelse. The appointment marks the completion of Crown Prince Christian’s officer training, which he began in August 2025 after completing his compulsory military service with the Guard Hussar Regiment.
Present at the ceremony were King Frederik X and Queen Mary, together with Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent. They attended the parade alongside the families and relatives of the other newly commissioned lieutenants. Following the completion of his lieutenant training, the Crown Prince will continue his military service with the Royal Life Guards.
Beginning in August 2026, Crown Prince Christian will serve as a platoon commander for a group of conscripts at the Guards Barracks in Høvelte. As a platoon commander, the Crown Prince will be responsible for the training, leadership, and day-to-day command of the conscript soldiers, forming a key part of the practical experience gained following the completion of his officer training.

Congratulations to Christian. So lovely to see the support from his family, including the pride evident in his mother and father. Bravo.

I love the rich burgundy colour of the AM blazer which looks great against black and white. It's tailored to perfection with the slim collar and slanted pockets.
ReplyDeleteFun to see photos of a family event that come across more casual. I personally love each piece of the Queen’s outfit especially the cut, color, and length of the burgundy blazer. The style of the white blouse is perfect with the blazer and the navy wrap and camel heels & handbag are stylishly classic. I believe the King is wearing RM Williams boots (tag showing in photo 3), which is fun nod to his wife’s Aussie roots. And congrats to the prince on his commissioning!
ReplyDeleteSuch a very very very lovely FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGosh it must have been a chilly day..all huddled up in shawls sitting on chairs that are too low. But a proud moment for the family
ReplyDeleteWell, congratulations to Christian. And he's already got a chestful of medals. ~~Ruthie
ReplyDeleteMagnifique veste cintrée au simple boutonnage de couleur Bordeaux qui se marie à merveille avec le blanc et le noir !

Shout out for King Frederick, how good does he look in this particular uniform! smashing ladies!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to CPC, marvelous, he looks terrific. Queen Mary looks so proud, I love the way she is looking at her eldest son, full of pride. The AM burgundy blazer, lovely fit. I like this style, the length at this level, perfect. (I would so love this jacket in my wardrobe !) Her pants look very good, appear tailored and fit well.
I feel Prince Vincent takes care with what he wears and it shows, he always looks so stylish and smart, very well groomed. So marvelous to see in one so young.
They all look gorgeous. Beautiful family.
