On the evening of 13 June 2026, a concert in honour of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia’s golden wedding anniversary was held on the Main Stage at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. The concert opened with a wedding march, followed by classics and favourites from the opera repertoire.
Among the soloists were Court Singer Daniel Johansson, Court Singer Karl-Magnus Fredriksson, and Court Singer Elin Rombo. The Royal Swedish Ballet performed dance pieces, including an excerpt from Alexander Ekman’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The Royal Court Orchestra and the Royal Swedish Opera Chorus also took part in the concert.
Among the members of the Royal Family attending the anniversary concert were Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine, Chris O'Neill, Princess Christina, and Tord Magnuson, as well as King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Princess Takamado of Japan, and Prince Gustav and Princess Carina of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg.

Silvia looks fantastic - perfect dress, hair, makeup, jewelry. Sofia looks very pretty with an updo. The sleeves of her dress are a bit much, but the overall effect of her dress is spring-like and romantic. Madeleine’s dress also looks spring-like, and I like the neckline and the raised hem in front. Victoria looks elegant and sparkly.

Agree.
DeleteAll the ladies - family and guests - look lovely. I love P.Takamado's chiffon gown. There are more detailed photos of it on other sites. It's so unusual to see a member of the Japanese Imperial family wearing a gown like this, but I guess since she is further away from the chrysanthemum throne in terms of succession, she has a lot more leeway in wearing what she wants and likes. She looks great, and so does the ever elegant P.Benedikt.
ReplyDeleteI also love that P.Madeleine has worn her mother's gown from 2005. She looks lovely in it just as her mother did when she first wore it.
P.Sofia's dress is soft and pretty which I like, and I'm very happy to see K.Harald and Q.Sonja of Norway present. It's hard for them to travel but they always make it to these events.

Wow. Everyone looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia is stunning. The color, the sparkle, her hair and make up, all add up to stunning.
The floral evening dresses are a nice change of pace and very suitable for summer. I think I like Pss Cristinas best.

Silvia looks wonderful, elegant, in great shape at age 82. Walking and moving around easily without support as compared to one of the King's sisters.
ReplyDeleteI also like Sofia's dress. Christopher O'Neill has lost weight and looks much better.
Madeleine looks gorgeous. Queen Silvia is exquisite and Victoria looks smashing!
ReplyDeleteSofia looks fabulous; flawless!
DeleteLovely colors! My favorite Queen Sonja.
ReplyDeleteScandinavians like a party! They celebrate every milestone!
King just celebrated his 80th, wonder why they didnt do a joint celebration! Swedish people top the bill!
DeleteThe Queen and CP Victoria looked stunning, gowns and jewels. Madeleine's gown I don't like on her. This was worn by the Queen in 2005 and it looked sensational on the Queen. I feel its the height of Madeleine and different shape, that this rewear is not as successful. I admire her re wearing / recycling this gown. Pss Bene and Pss Takamado looked beautiful again in both gowns and jewels, both choices in jewel pieces, stunning. Particularly the necklace and pendant Pss Bene is wearing. Not a fan of Pss Sofia's boho style gown, the tiered skirt of her gown I dislike. Her up style hair looks stunning.
ReplyDeleteEvery lady is dressed beautifully. Except P. Madeleine and P Sofia. I do not like their dresses with flower prints.
ReplyDeletei agree.
DeleteBeing dressed beautifully is certainly true; they are all dressed beautiful. Not liking what they wear is separate. Everyone in these photos is dressed beautifully.
DeleteThe Queen and CP Victoria look stunningly elegant. I like P Madeleine´s rewear of Q Silvia´s dress. Madeleine is taller so a dress that was floor length with a small train is now a raised front dress and it looks surprisingly good. I find Sofia´s dress too boho and casual. She rarely manages to look polished. The rest of the guests all look elegant and the men dashing.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! The Queen looks just smashing in this gown between the beading, gorgeous lilac color and her beautiful hair/makeup, especially the dark lip color which makes the whole look for me.
DeleteI adore that Princess Madeleine wore her mother’s dress. The dress is really nice and she is beautiful too. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteCP Victoria looks nice too.
I don’t like Princess Sofia’s outfit at all.
The dress looks cheap and does not suit her at all. I’m glad that she is wearing her hair up I just wish she would let her fringe grow, it doesn’t compliment her at all, just covers her beautiful face.
The Queen looks amazing. The real star of the event, she has been and still is such a stylish beautiful lady and so Kind too. I love her. Larina

Where is Estelle ?
ReplyDeleteWhy not go and find out?!
DeleteTrond Norén Isaksen on FB says that Estelle is abroad. Read here: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1905573574210966&set=pb.100042750248545.-2207520000
DeleteSilvia looks smashing indeed. Hard to believe that she is 80+. Her dress is very elegant and hits all the right notes: a bit of gold for the occasion, soft pastel colours for June, the right amount of glam to stand out as the queen, yet still not over the board in terms of silhouette and drama. The only quibble I have is the (to me) slight mismatch of colours. I think the skirt had looked better in a deeper red (possible burgundy like her lipstick) to pick up the warm tones of the gold. The lilac is a bit too cold, even tough I realize that that very colour is represented in the top. I think it looks perfect as is from up close, but from further away, the colours are jarring to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteVictoria looks effortlessly beautiful in her gown which is super elegant yet still looks comfortable.
I also like the floral dresses on Madeleine and Sofia, though I´m slightly distracted by the uneven hem on Madeleine´s. She is quite a bit taller than her mother, which makes the hem standout more unfortunately. Sofia´s dress is nice, a bit too boho/romantic for the occasion maybe but her updo, jewellery and purse lift it up enough to work as a whole.
Everyone else looks great too, and very much true to their respective personal styles. Without seeing any faces, I would have been able to tell who is Sonja, who is Benedikte, who is Christina. How wonderful for all of them (and many more) to get together for this occasion and having beautiful sunshine for it. I´m thinking back to Silvia´s and Carl Gustafs pre-wedding concert when Abba performed "Dancing queen" for them. I think they are sitting in the very same seats again.
Queen Silvia's make-up is wonderful. She looks 10 years younger than she is.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty specialist who is responsible for this make-up is a real artist. Also her hair is wonderful.
I have a question.
What is the connection with Princess Takamado. I can't remember I've seen her picture regularly in the past. It is only recently that I see sometimes a picture of her. Can someone explain me her relationship with the Scandinavian royals ? Thank you in advance.
Sofia et la reine sont mes préférées
ReplyDeleteSilvia and Victoria both look spectacular!
ReplyDeleteOf course all the other ladies look good too.
Estelle absente des festivités ?
ReplyDeleteSilvia is unbeatable here, for me. This dress as as totally unique, at the same time very simple and very tasteful without any design "specialities". It demonstrates so well too, how beautifully elegant straight dresses can be, without any demonstrative fabric overflow in the skirt part. Victoria is again beautiful, her best basic outfit is her body, this quite simple gown is absolutely enough to be smashing. Third place goes to Princess Christina. Sofia's dress is too much flounce-and-frill. The others look not really so that I feel motivated to write about them - neither bad, nor outstanding.
ReplyDeleteCP Victoria and Q Silvia are the stand out of the evening.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
Silvia looks stunning. The dress is absolutely beautiful and elegant, but her hairstyle, in particular, is perfect.
ReplyDeleteVictoria’s evening gown is stunning. Sophie’s and Madeleine’s floral dresses are great choice for a bright Swedish summer evening. It’s a nice touch that Madeleine chose a dress from her mother’s closet. Benedikte’s outfit is also simply elegant. -Siri
Yes, I agree on Silvia' hairstyle. Beautiful and elegant. She has got full and strong hair you can do a lot with.
DeleteWhat an eventful day for Sweden and their royal family. Princess Carina's dress is a repeat as well (might be from some Greek wedding, I think?). Glad that King Harald and Queen Sonja were able to attend. The Imperial House of Japan out in forces to visit Europe (aside from Princess Takamado, the Emperor and Empress have landed in the Netherlands by now, two consecutive state visits to occur soon). I like everything I see here. Very satisfying, indeed.
