The Princess of Wales is making a two-day visit to the northern Italian city of Reggio Emilia as part of the international expansion of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. On the second day of her visit, the Princess of Wales visited the Salvador Allende Preschool in Reggio Emilia, where outdoor learning is strongly encouraged. The school follows the philosophy that the environment serves as the “third teacher.” Afterward, the Princess visited REMIDA, Reggio Emilia’s creative resource centre.

This is a lovely blazer and a lovely skirt, each in their own right but not the two of them together. Blazer and pleated skirt ... two different style worlds. For me, the combination the model is wearing would be much better and also very appropriate for this special visit.
ReplyDeleteAgree. Each item is nice and chic but not put together.
DeleteÉlégant ce blazer à fines rayures porté avec cette jupe plissée dont la largeur est adéquate pour s’accroupir devant les enfants !
ReplyDeleteI really like the striped jacket and the way the colour of the stripes is reflected in the skirt. The two tone shoes are cute. The pleated skirt looks smart although once again is too long. I'm tired of complaining about the Windsor ladies ultra long hemlines and I'm sure the community hear is tired of reading my complaints. This will be my last one.
ReplyDeleteThn I'll be happy to pick up the torch. A two or three inch hem can make a dress/skirt go from frumpy to fabulous. ;)
DeleteHi Sandra, I don’t disagree with you but I do remember that Catherine had some unfortunate incidents early in her marriage to William when her knee-length skirt blew completely up above her waist and revealed all below. She seems to have been extra careful since and this is an important solo outing when unpredictable little children and gusts of wind may be involved.
DeletePrincess Catherine speaks very good Italian!
ReplyDeleteNot true, she only said; 'come ti chiami' 'mi chiamo Caterina'
DeleteWell I like the skirt. Not a fan of the blazer, but it works fine. I like the shoes don't know if I would have chosen them with this outfit. Wonder does she have another engagement before going back home? I remember that necklace and those earrings.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket is nice with interesting details in the stripes and unique pocket design. But it’s not living its best life paired with a plain ivory top and skirt, even with the pleats. It’s a little safe and vanilla. I was hoping for at least a hint of Italian fashion, but maybe I’m setting unfair expectations.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket is Italian. MR
DeleteThis is a nice outfit for being outside and moving around. I like Catherine’s shoes a lot - they add a bit of interest and cohesiveness to the outfit.

Lovely outfit, interesting how the stripes in the jacket coordinate with the pleats of the skirt. Love the shoe buckle, very cute
ReplyDeleteI ❤️ her shoes. Is it Chanel?
ReplyDeleteFor me this outfit simply doesn't work. Beautiful and delicate pleated skirt and heavy jacket with it ruin harmony. For me she should wear original combination of jacket and pants (longer than on the model) or pleated skirt and equaly delicat jumper or jacket.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful look on Catherine! Love the softness of the pleated skirt which is a great counterpoint to the linen blazer. The Chanel shoes are the cherry on top! MR
ReplyDeletePerfect, so stylish, love the shoes!
