The Plants With Purpose Garden at the Royal Windsor Flower Show 2026 is co-designed by the Duchess of Edinburgh and Alan Williams of Landform Consultants. During a meeting with Alan Titchmarsh, Honorary President of the Royal Windsor Flower Show, the Duchess shared some of the inspiration behind the garden, which will highlight the importance of healthy soil.

  2. Je dis tout de suite oui pour ce blazer croisé rayé porté avec un pantalon blanc à la longueur idéale ; ces chaussures ressemblant à des espadrilles, cela donne un look parfait auquel la duchesse ne nous a pas habitué !

Very smart look, trim, college style, but the collar needs arranging.

Hello half-collar blouse, where did you leave the other half? Oh I understand, it is there, crumpled under the jacket. - This makes, again and again, an ungroomed impression, even if the jacket is a pretty one. Does not she see it, at the latest, when she sees the photos made of her?

I don’t think she aims for your perfection. I think she aims to be neat and clean and appropriate. I also don’t think the collar in and out matters; it doesn’t look like a lack of grooming but a collar that moves. Which is all it is. The white collared shirt pairs really well with the jacket.

    2. Seeing her own photos might mean it's too late to adjust her collar anyway. I do not find much fault in having the collar tucked under the blazer in a bit of a haphazard way while discussing serious gardening, which perhaps - we didn't get to see it, but I wouldn't categorically rule it out - also could have resulted in her being hands-on in the process. So, a bit of a collar mess-up is certainly not a big deal here.

Agree DSC. I think commenters here regularly assume that a picture which captures a single instant represents a whole event, and judge harshly if they see less than perfection.

My thoughts exactly, Expensive blazer and sloppy dressing.

@Virginia, yes. For some commenters, not a big deal - no problem. Others look at the details, because they can enhance - or just as well: ruin the bigger picture.

The jacket is lovely and looks good on DoE. The white lines in the jacket are matching the white jeans. The espadrilles however, well if she likes to wear them, I would reserve them to wear with a cotton summer dress during the months of June-July-August. Now I'd prefer to see her wearing white trainers. These would give the impression that her legs are longer. The lapels of her jacket are a bit too white too

I think it’s a beautifully balanced ensemble and the whites on my screen all match as do the beiges. White sneakers are always a good alternative. I think Sophie being shorter is accustomed to wearing heels so might not be in to the white sneakers.

"The lapels of her jacket..........too white..." is not correct. This sentence has to be cancelled. Sorry.

Double-breasted white striped golden buttoned blazer on the elegant side - espadrilles on a very different side. I mentioned the "hidden"-crumpled collar already, that is a third side altogether :-)

  9. The double breasted large gold button blazer looks exceptionally good, I love the length of this jacket, perfect with these pants. The white stripes of the jacket well match the color of her pants, clever choice. Her pants fit well. The outfit was very appropriate for this visit, she looks great.

What these photos prove, is 1)Duchess Sophie is quite slight in shape.2)Not especially tall. With that in mind why must she wear items that hide such a beautiful figure. In this instance the jacket is nice. I would have preferred a cropped jacket, to the waist. This is the nicest I’ve seen her in a long time. A youthful and stylish look.
