On May 11, 2026, Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the official opening of the Belgium–Türkiye Business Forum, held at Swissotel The Bosphorus in Istanbul. Before the opening, Queen Mathilde met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan at the Vahdettin Mansion in Istanbul. The Queen also met with Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, with whom she attended the opening session of the economic mission.
Queen Mathilde is leading the Belgium–Türkiye Economic Mission from May 10 to 14, 2026. The Queen will participate in the events scheduled through May 12. On the second day of her visit to Istanbul, Queen Mathilde wore a crochet guipure cotton dress from the Natan Couture Spring/Summer 2024 collection, a design she has previously worn on several occasions.
Throughout the day, Queen Mathilde attended several events and seminars. On the sidelines of a seminar on logistics, transport, and critical infrastructure at the Istanbul Naval Museum, she also had the opportunity to view some of the historic vessels on display there. The Queen also opened a seminar on entrepreneurship as a driver of women’s empowerment together with the Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services.

I've never liked white, lacey dresses. They look too much like wedding gowns.
ReplyDeleteYesterday evening for the official opening of the economic mission Queen Mathilde wore a beautiful new pantsuit with short sleeves. The jacket was made of a red broché fabric and the pants were made in a plain fabric in the same red color. The Belgian royalty watchers don't know who made it. I think it was another outfit by Esmeralda Amoun or maybe Saïd Meer who surprised us in the past with his skills. The pictures of the opening can been found on "Getty images".
ReplyDeleteI love the group shot of the ladies overlooking the water below. Some lovely outfits and a happy group. I’m struck by just how crisp black and white looks when we lose all other inspiration and also love the coat of the lady with the red shoes. The queen looks stunning with her reading glasses!
ReplyDeleteThis white lace dress makes Queen Mathilde bigger than she really is. Not very flattering.
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of dense lace dresses, but the Queen looks lovely in this dress, it's very flattering of her, she looks very attractive. Her accessories, shoes and clutch lovely color. Her hair looks natural and soft looking, love the earrings. The group photo in front of the glass panel is a splendid photo, beautiful view from behind.
ReplyDeleteLa silhouette de Mathilde supporte toujours ce modèle de robe blanche en dentelle de Natan !
ReplyDeleteThe guipure dress looks not good on every picture. QM choosed again a dress with a high collar. There are better and more interesting pictures, when you see QM introducing the Belgian Ministers (most important among them is Maxime Prévot, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Theo Francken, Minister of Foreign Trade) and business men and women to the Turkish companies and the Turkish government.
ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde wore this dress last year in september for the international conference of the UN in New York. Here she is wearing it with beige shoes, the handbag "C'est Dior", earrings CH Herrera and a golden bracelet by Christine Bekaert.
She looks good. Nice dress.

guipure Lace is such a dense fabric, it usual does not phonograph well, but in person is quite impressive. I think the texture is perfect for the visit. She looks lovely
ReplyDeleteTrès très jolie Mathilde mais je reste de l’avis que sa coupe de cheveux devrait être revisitée
