More than 112,450 people took part in this year’s Royal Run fitness festival on May 25, 2026, in Randers, Ringkøbing, Middelfart, Helsingør, and Copenhagen/Frederiksberg. King Frederik X of Denmark began the day in Randers, where, following his arrival, the King officially launched this year’s Royal Run by running the One Mile distance. Queen Mary of Denmark ran in Helsingør, where she participated in the 5 km race.
Princess Isabella, Princess Josephine, and Prince Vincent took part in the Family Mile in Copenhagen/Frederiksberg. Crown Prince Christian ran in Ringkøbing, where he participated in the 5 km race. Royal Run is organized by the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark, DGI, and the Danish Athletics Federation in connection with “Move for Life,” Denmark’s largest sports initiative.

I love the numbering on their runner's bib. The King - Number 1. The Queen - Number 2. Crown Prince - Number 3. Princess Isabella - Number 4. Prince Vincent - Number 5. Princess Josephine - Number 6.

DeleteSuper cool initiative and family.
ReplyDeleteEven in an outfit like this Mary looks chic and adorable!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! She looks polished no matter what she wears! MR
DeleteI always love to see coverage of this event! Impressive that the whole royal family running 1-3 miles and it’s great to see the huge number of runners.
ReplyDeleteWell they ran kilometres not miles … metric you know ;-)
DeleteThey are shining examples of family fitness for better health when running is possible for people. They all look very fit too, which possibly means that they include other forms of fitness in their routines (such as weight training, yoga, calisthenics, etc.) which we do not see in public. Good for them!

I'd love to know their routines.
DeleteMary is so normal!
ReplyDelete?? But of course. All royals are also just people. And these days many come from ordinary backgrounds without privilege. But also, I would say that Mary is not normal at all but particularly special and clever in how she rose to this role from normalcy and has done it so incredibly well.
DeleteAgree with Anonymous 08:54. Mary is not only very smart, but also an exceptional beauty. I wouldn't call her "normal" - but "down to earth".
DeleteExceptional beauty???? She’s averagely attractive.
Delete22:32 you don’t need to bring down another’s lovely compliment to another woman !
DeleteWonderful to see such an active family. And no “safety concerns” like other obsessed royals
ReplyDeleteYou bet there are safety concerns, we just don’t hear about them.
DeleteFewer safety concerns. If you look carefully in any wider photos you will see they do always have security and their security personnel run with them in these races … but they don’t come on heavy and in black and threatening like in America … they attempt to blend in and be ordinary unless more assertive action is required.
DeleteSure there are concerns, but that doesn’t prevent them from getting involved. I think that was the point made here. Other royals use the concerns as an excuse to remain distant
DeleteYou people are the ones that are obsessed. I would protect myself and my children if I had numerous death threats that the former head of security speaks of. You have no idea what people do day to day because thankfully the people they're around have a life. Get a life. Disgusting!
DeleteWell not hard when security is running with you as has been seen with Frederick, Mary, and Christian every time paid for by the taxpayers. Jog on.
Delete18:37 I’m trying to work out the meaning of your words but quite confused: “ You have no idea what people do day to day … because thankfully the people they're around have a life? Get a life?”. I guess there’s a meaning in there ? As for calling another commenter’s thoughts disgusting, I think you’ve gone too far. The art of a comment is to make your thoughts clearly understood while not aggressing or upsetting others.
DeleteGreat commitment from the family, to do this every year.

Its wonderful to see Mary encouraging and supporting this 5 km race run along with the rest of her family. Such a good example, mental and physical well being and fitness, anything to inspire others to if they haven't already to take care of their health and well being.
ReplyDeleteInspiring sure, but it also helps a lot to have a full staff to take care of daily tasks like cooking, cleaning and things non royals have to deal with everyday. Most people I know work long hours and have to take care of everything else and don’t always have time for exercise or have a cook to make those healthy meals.
DeleteC'est un plaisir de voir la famille royale toute en décontraction participer annuellement à cette course ; oh, j'allais oublier le chien qu a dù la soutenir ah, ah !
