On May 30, 2026, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, together with Princess Leonor, presided over the main ceremony of Armed Forces Day (DIFAS) 2026, held in Vigo (Pontevedra). Armed Forces Day has been celebrated in Spain since 1978 as an official institutional event intended to pay tribute to the Armed Forces and the Navy while promoting public awareness and understanding of Spain’s military forces.

Letizia's dress seems very casual for an official event, her usual bold colors would have been great. This is giving DoE Sophie's errand dresses.

I guess there is some resemblance… but I don’t think this beautiful, finely detailed, silk (?) dress is in anyway too casual for a hot Madrid day. She’s chosen from a Spanish designer; I think she is very careful in outfit choices and manufacturer choices, most often supporting Spanish businesses. She’s been to this annual event many times and with all due respect, is far more aware of the protocol and dress standards than this commenter.

حذفThe dress is gorgeous and feminine. The aquamarine blue colour is beautiful while the floral print is subtle but still stands out. I also like the balloon sleeves. For some reason the model's version seems to be see through and you can see her slip. Not a good look. I like the more solid version on Letizia and I'm glad she removed the fuzzy bow tie.
ردحذفVery pretty blue dress. I am not a fan of shoes with ankle straps, the exception are espadrilles. The princess and the long look fabulous in their uniforms.

حذفAway with the bow and away with the surplus length and the open skirt and maybe the sleeves are slimmed down too - at second thought, she could have ditched the whole dress and take a completely different one,. To open a neckline is such a good idea with a busy, patterned and long dress like this. - Leonor's face is like milk and honey, beautiful.
ردحذفThis dress has so many design elements (balloon sleeves, see thru fabric, small buttons, front slit, lapels, floral pattern) seems like a departure from QL’s typical outfits, which tend toward simple and modern. I can understand the white accessories, but white shoes are always a pass in my opinion.

حذفThe King and Princess Leonor, look outstanding in uniform, well attired, not a thing out of place. Queen Letizia looks nice, but this dress for this occasion is a no in my opinion. Personally, I feel its a bit on the casual side.
ردحذفI'm not sure what it is, but this dress does not appeal to me, the design, style. I don't like the white accessories, with this dress, though the white is picked up with her dress. I also don't like the ankle strap shoes. Not a fan of her hair. Regardless of my tastes this occasion was wonderful.

Ah 7:45 you are a rarity amongst us … someone who prefers a pussy bow! For myself I much prefer this lovely open neckline and things it’s a better balance for a busy print. I have loved seeing her this year in many items of this cornflower blue and find it wonderful on her. I think this dress is very much to her advantage!

ردحذفI love the dress it fits well, good colour, is fine as it is, however for me it is missing something, perhaps a necklace, perhaps a thin belt in blue, perhaps it just did photograph well. Very appropriate for the occasion especially with the longer sleeves.
ردحذفAnon.12:46. Some commentators write that Queen Letizia dress is too casual because it real is (there is nothing that makes it festive or formal). The minister of defense (a lady in red outfit) is at least wearing a jacket to look more official.
ردحذفIf they say themselves it is not needed to look very formal, I think we only can accept this. The people of Spain are supposed to know better than we do. I suppose Q. Letizia does know too what she can wear and what she cannot wear at these ceremonies.
