On May 11, 2026, Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the official opening of the Belgium–Türkiye Business Forum, held at Swissotel The Bosphorus in Istanbul. Before the opening, Queen Mathilde met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan at the Vahdettin Mansion in Istanbul. The Queen also met with Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, with whom she attended the opening session of the economic mission.

Queen Mathilde is leading the Belgium–Türkiye Economic Mission from May 10 to 14, 2026. The Queen will participate in the events scheduled through May 12.
