On May 31, 2026, Queen Mathilde, accompanied by her son Prince Emmanuel, took part in the 46th Brussels 20 km Run, held at Jubelpark in Brussels. The race covers a distance of 20.1 kilometres and has been held annually in Brussels since 1980. More than 50,000 people gathered for the event on the Esplanade of the Cinquantenaire on Sunday, May 31.

I wonder if she completed the whole run or just a part of it. No sweaty face, clothes, and a hair not out of place. I would be hot, sweaty mess at the end of this. I regularly run marathons and fun runs and belong to a running club. Just saying
ReplyDelete1. The photo's are probably taken at the start
Delete2. The 20 km of Brussels can be done by running or by walking
3. Prince Emmanuel always participates by running
4. Queen Mathilde always participates to do the walking part
5. As far as I know she doesn't do this regularly
@1:50 If you look closely the words START are just behind her…
Delete“Just saying”? I think the queen and her friends were in the walking category. They are wearing bags.
DeleteShe walked the entire distance like she has already done for a few years, she did not run. There are a lot of tunnels in Brussels, it's not the easiest run to complete. I also think the pictures were taken at the beginning and not at the end, so don't worry about looking sweaty yourself ;-) King Philippe ran it before.
DeletePrince Emmanuel looks a lot like a young King Philippe in these pictures.
If one look closely, one can see the 2 body guards who are walking behind the queen (Photo 1 & 4). The 3 ladies in the red T-shirts are friends and/or assistants of Queen Mathilde.
DeleteMathilde est vraiment très active ces jours-ci, principalement avec les concert du concours Reine Elizabeth. Josée.
ReplyDeleteThe young Prince is such an impressive man, he is mature, yet humble, love this. Great to see him here and the Queen exercising, very important for the mind and body.
ReplyDeleteI hardly recognized Pr Emmanuel, he is so tall !! Nice from him to be participating.

DeleteIl est vrai que la dernière photo nous montre que le prince Emmanuel a bien grandi en devenant un jeune homme qui sait faire preuve d'humanité en venant à l'aide d'un coureur qui apparement a eu un malaise dû à la chaleur !

She did it ! When she will take a rest ?
ReplyDeleteI just read on a Belgian website that Prince Emmanuel took part this year with the "handisporters" to support persons with a handycap. He ran together with "Les petites Soeurs des Pauvres" an organization which supports old and poor people until their life is coming to an end. He is wearing a shirt from the Belgian "Red devils" football team.
ReplyDeleteAnon 13:47 - Thank you so much for providing this additional information. So impressed by the prince’s support and highlight of this organization. This helps to explain the last photo posted above.
DeleteThis is one busy lady. Always support a charity or any other organization needing help.

DeleteIt is Prince Emmanuel who supports the charity organization (see 13:47).
