King Felipe and Queen Letizia have announced that Princess Leonor will pursue a degree in Political Science at Carlos III University of Madrid after completing her military training. The Princess will begin an undergraduate program at the university’s Getafe campus, which includes subjects such as Political Science, the Humanities, Law, Economics, Sociology, History, and International Relations. The academic program will last four years.

The Spanish Royal Household announced this development and also shared photographs taken during Princess Leonor’s training at the General Air and Space Academy in San Javier. The Princess has completed her second solo flight at the controls of a Pilatus PC-21 aircraft.

During her training at the General Air and Space Academy in San Javier, Princess Leonor took part in instructing other cadets in the SERE exercise (Survival, Evasion, and Escape).

    As a pilot I can tell you, to get close enough to take a picture of a pilot flying, close enough that you can make out her face, requires the two aircraft to be very close together. And this requires courage, calm and very well honed skill. Well done Leonor.
