A silk dress, not so casual

I think it’s not so much casual as relaxed elegance. Very Harvard, very student, very appropriate.

Elisabeth is gorgeous, the occasion is joyous, congratulations for her excellent work, and yes, she obviously likes this dress or else she would not have chosen it. But as we are not talking here about all the above mentioned but about the dress: the cut, together with the allover pattern and the light shine of the fabric gives a pronounced nightdress vibe for me.

I’m not sure that the sleeveless cut is the right top with a floor length silk dress, although in theory it should work. But I very appreciate that this deeper red pattern detail and bag are the Harvard school color. Congrats on her graduation!!

Everyone dressed casual so why can't she ? It's a hot day and dressed as a student which she is. Not a princess moment

@01:23: she can dress as she chooses, of course. And we can have an opinion about it. - "Princess moment": Sure she had a lot of non-princess moments in the last two years, without photographs called extra for the event. But every moment is a princess moment that is meant to be seen by photos.

I agree 1:23. I’m so glad she’s managed to be away and out of sight of photos and the “we are allowed to criticise” criticisms. I sincerely hope her next project is also away where she can just be herself and not be expected to be perfect.

Yes @1:23. She’s allowed to be a student! She’s amongst class mates. It’s a very weird expectation often expressed here that a Princess must be perfect. Let her grow up and enjoy finding out who she is without having to dress in any way except that which she wants.

CP Elisabeth (24 years old) is already grown up and she knows exactly who she is and what is expected of her. She had her first big interview with the Belgian press (in French and Dutch) already and was praised for the answers she gave, short with much diplomacy and without making any mistake. She will take a gap year now which I think she deserves after all the efforts she has done during the last 4 à 5 years. A lot of other European princes and princesses take a gap year before they are going to university.

Not keen on halter style dresses, though she wears it well. Print is okay. Because it is not lined it clings to the legs.

This isn’t a halter neck. Check the model photos. A sleeveless dress for a summer’s day. I like it!

CP looks young, fresh and happy in this lovely summer dress. QM looks great as well. Love her hairstyle, makes her look younger. Almost like an older sister…

CP looks lovely and wears her clothes with confidence, perfect choices. Black loafers with summer clothes is very European and look carefully @02:35 it is not a halter neck.

Among the youth black loafers are fashion in Europe since last winter and continued to be fashion in spring too. They cannot wear sneakers in any circumstances and loafers are the right solution when you have to walk a lot from one building to another and on any surface.

    me semble très fraîche, Élisabeth est ravissante ;
je la lui envie car dans ma région du Sud-ouest de la France la canicule ne s’atténue pas du tout !

Great outfits. I love the maje dress which is simply styled and in a beautiful fabric. The yellow dress is also lovely.

  12. I also like the feminine silk dress very much but I agree that it clings to her legs unfortunately. Anyway she looks lovely!

CP Elisabeth is looking fresh and up-to-date in her silk dress by Maje. The red print is lovely. She borrowed Queen Mathilde's wine red handbag : the Lady-Dior. She changed shoes to wear with this dress : the dark wine red slingbacks with a little heel look gorgeous with the dress and the handbag. She also changed her earrings by the red Stella Mini earrings from Bamboleira.
Queen Mathilde is wearing a light yellow dress which ressembless the dress she was wearing lately during the state visit to Norway, but I think, it is not exactly the same. She is also wearing a golden cuff bracelet which seems to be new, but as she has about 3 golden cuff bracelets, it is possible she is wearing one of them.
King Philippe looks really a happy man (photos N° 8, 9, 10, 11). It must be a relief for him that his daughter achieved an important part of her life with success. He and Q. Mathilde are looking very proud parents.

In the meantime I found out that Queen Mathilde's yellow dress is a new one by Natan. It is made in a structured jersey. She is wearing one of her cuff bracelets by Christine Bekaert. The earrings are by Nunu BCN. Her shoes and handbag (C'est Dior) are by Dior. Signed 15:20.

Elisabeth looks poised and confident, and her parents look justifiably proud. Her red and white dress was a good choice given that she also wore it under her commencement gown. I like Mathilde’s more softly-styled hair; it is a more youthful and flattering look for her.

Wow! The yellow dress of Mathilde is really a perfect model for her figure and so elegant. And Elizabeth's long printed dress super cool. The Belgian royals know how to dress

I like everything BUT the silk dress. It just looks like a slip or night gown.
The white linen outfit is nice but would have been even nicer with a different shoe, ideally something lighter and brighter.

That is what you are thinking, but it is not what young people are thinking.
They have other ideas than their parents. One could say she is already 24 years old, but one could also say she is still 24 years young. She has plenty of time to dress like an older lady. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde said she will given the opportunity to have a good time during her gap year. CP Elisabeth said she would also like to travel to other countries during her gap year.
