King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are making an official visit to Lithuania at the invitation of President Gitanas Nausėda. On May 18, 2026, Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nausėda and First Lady Diana Nausėdienė welcomed King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius.
Afterwards, the King and Queen, together with the President and First Lady, visited the Ukrainian Center in Vilnius. They watched a performance by the Ukrainian children’s choir Mriya (Dream) and viewed the exhibition Lost Childhood by Ukrainian photographer Roman Pashkovskiy. The exhibition tells the stories of Ukrainian children who were forcibly displaced and abducted by Russia.
Then, the King and Queen, together with the President and First Lady, met with the Lithuanian Scouts at the Presidential Palace. Since the restoration of independence, the Lithuanian Scouts have united thousands of scouts across the country for more than 30 years and have become the largest scouting organization in the Baltic region, affiliated with the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

I think queen Sylvia is one of the best dressed royal ladies, I just always thought this white hat looks like an old world nurses cap from the front!
ReplyDeleteBelle allure toutes les deux dans leur tailleur dont la couleur douce leur convient bien !

DeleteNot keen on the double bebreasted suit. The king usually looks so polished and this style do not give the look. The only royal I feel that looks good in this style jacket is the Duke of Edinburgh, perhaps because he is so tall and slim.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen lovely as usual.
King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia are looking so tiny next to President Gitanas Nauséda and the First lady of Lithuania. This is one of Queen Silvia's tweed ensembles I like less. The color doesn't suit her as well as her fuchsia red or kings blue ensembles. The president is a giant compared to them and also the first lady is a tall woman. I'd like to see her in a dress instead of the 2 pieces. The shoulders are too wide because of the shoulder pads. A brighter pink color would suit her better than salmon pink.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree with your first sentence. The royal Swedish couple looks tiny and modest standing next to the Lithnuanian president and his wife. I think this presidential couple should be more modest, it's not them but their guests who should be the centre of attention.
ReplyDeleteWhat would you like them to do? Shrink??

DeleteIf you have problems with the way the presidential couple is standing on the photo, you should accuse the photographer. In generally when a photographer has to make a picture of a group of people, he is the one who must see how everyone is standing "a bit more to the right or a bit more to the left", etc... I also agree with Anonymous 22:19. If you are a tall person, be it a president or a king or a civilian you will always be noticed more quickly in a group or on a picture. Ask King Felipe of Spain he has the same "problem". By the way does it really matter ? I think they have more important things to discuss with each other.
@Anon. 22:19 Look at the first picture - and you will (or in your case: may see) understand. The presidential couple standing broadly in the centre and the royal couple standing modestly next, queen Sylvia half way behind the king. Some people don't see the obvious because they don't want to.
DeleteLovely spring like green suit for Queen Silvia. I also like the smart uniforms worn by the majority of Lithuanian Scouts
ReplyDeleteAlways in style. I also like the outfit worn by the First Lady of Lithuania.

I don't. She doesn't look pretty or sympathetic imo.
DeleteSylvia toujours chic et classe.. Ce qui me frappe chez la première dame de Lituanie est å quel point ses sous-vêtements sont lui vont å merveille. C’est comme ça que nous aimerions voir Stéphanie.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks well groomed and stylish in this two piece suit. The First Lady looks immaculately groomed. She has perfect posture.
