Crown Princess Victoria Receives Grand Duke Guillaume at Stockholm Royal Palace

On May 6, 2026, King Carl Gustaf chaired the board meeting of the World Scout Foundation at the Royal Palace. The meeting marked the King’s last as honorary chair of the organization after nearly 50 years in the position. In recognition of his contributions to the Scout movement, the foundation awarded him the title of Honorary Founder of the Foundation.

In connection with the World Scout Foundation’s events in Stockholm, King Carl XVI Gustaf transferred the honorary chairmanship to Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg. On May 7, 2026, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden received Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg in audience at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

      Yes! Victoria looks fantastic and stands beautifully. I wish the Luxembourgers would learn to stand with such posture. Their hands crossed in front do them no favours, such a pity because they’re joyful and otherwise lovely to look at.

      As for hands crossed in front of the body, if you like it or not: most royals use this posture and more than that, Victoria does it too, when she does not have a bag of flowers in her hand.     @17:59 A few born royals were not taught how to stand or walk properly. Some married-ins carry themselves well (Queen Mary). Others can't manage it after puberty hits. One royal who doesn't stand/walk in a dignified manner is King Frederik, although Prince Joachim seems to manage it quite well. (Just my observations.) ~~Ruthie
