On May 16, 2026, Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa of Jordan attended the Tawasul Forum 2026. Held under the theme “Visions for Tomorrow’s Opportunities,” the forum explores major global transformations and their implications for local priorities and future-oriented development pathways. For the occasion, Princess Rajwa wore a blue blouse by Joseph, paired with black heels by Saint Laurent.

ردحذفBut I cannot appreciate the blouse. The neckline and drapey bit do not enhance the blouse and in fact to my eyes simply look like the line manager accidentally overlooked the unfinished design and it accidentally got produced and went to market.
This somewhat confusing neckline solution looks like unfinished design, as if the designer could not decide where to put the fabric on the side where it does not hang down. It is just an agglomeration of fabric on one side, every movement of the head and the neck will moves the fabric in unexpected ways, that were sure not accounted for when drawing the design. Avantgarde, extraordinary, but in no way nice.

ردحذفYes, well observed. Hussein's wife is self-assured , nice and elegant, but she certainly dresses far more in a conservative style than queen Rania- always showing long sleeves for instance, no decolleté. Well, she is from a rich Saudi family, from a very strict muslim country.
حذفLet's call it what it is: it is not conservative, she very much appreciates and wears fashion avantgarde, but if and only if it can be worn according to modesty as prescribed by Islam. Of course not fully kept, hair is open and yes she does wear short sleeves, even on official photos.

حذف@16:41, no, conservative clothing on the one hand religiously defined and restricted clothing are very-very much not the same. The Duchess of Gloucester or Sarah Chatto e.g. dress conservatively, not following latest fashion or fashion at all, the Duchess nevertheless exquisitely. Sarah Chatto is classic conservative with her little cardigans. Rajwa on the other hand loves and enjoys fashionable designer dresses, even avantgarde fashion. But her choices are clearly restricted by modesty requirements prescribed by her religion. She does not follow 100%, but she does follow them. I think we should differentiate and call things what they are. You cannot subsume religious restrictions under "conservative" or vice versa.

ردحذف"boring" without striking colours: Politely disagree. Colour popping handbag is something that diverts from the rather muted overall composition - and I am sure Rajwa knew why she chose muted. These women we see here have a primary task, even more if they don't come alone, delivering a striking effect is not part of it.

حذفI think the blouse's tie/faux scarf drapes beautifully! -- the only problem I see is that it is positioned on the side on which Rajwa wears her handbag. The bag's strap unfortunately interferes drastically with the intended effect :-( .

حذفThis blouse is by Joseph a brand which is also worn by GD Stéphanie of Luxembourg. The idea of the scarf is not conservative at all. Queen Mathilde has a white blouse like this since many years. She rewore it only recently. The scarf can be worn on the frontside, but also backwards. Just like Princess Rajwa's. Queen Mathilde's blouse is designed by .....yes you guessed it Natan, which is known for its avantgarde designs. I remember the scarf on QM's blouse have received many bad comments because it is designed by Natan (more for that reason than because a number of people find it a bad model).
ردحذفI do not care for the blouse with the strange side swoop. I do think she would look better with her hair worn more loosely around her face.
