On May 4, 2026, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited BRUSK, a new state-of-the-art art hall set to open in Bruges. BRUSK aims to bridge the city’s rich artistic past with contemporary art. The venue will host major temporary exhibitions and performing arts events and is connected via a footbridge to the Musea Brugge research center, BRON.
During her visit, the Queen visited two exhibitions: “Latent City,” a groundbreaking exhibition by digital art pioneer Refik Anadol, and “Wide Angle: Interwoven Worlds of Bruges 900–1550,” which explores how the “Venice of the North” developed into a global crossroads during the Middle Ages. She also toured the restoration workshop and the print room of the BRON center.
