The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are undertaking a visit to Australia for the first time since 2018. They will take part in various engagements in Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney during their four-day visit. On April 14, 2026, the Duke and Duchess visited the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne (RCH) in Parkville, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria.
The Duke and Duchess spent time in the hospital’s Kelpie Ward, which, through its Adolescent Health Service, supports young people experiencing complex physical and mental health challenges. They also spent time in Kelpie’s therapy garden, where RCH patients grow herbs and vegetables for the hospital’s kitchen as part of the hospital’s Therapeutic Garden Program.
Karen Gee Priscilla Dress

Absolutely love this outfit and it fits like a glove. LRB
ReplyDeletei wonder why she choose dark/black, a colorful dress speaks freedom to do whatever she wants!
DeleteI do like it very much - on the model. On Meghan the top exposes more shoulder than the design has been created to - see how beautifully it covers the model’s shoulders and then allows the arm free - possibly becayse she’s quite broad around her middle and then the skirt which looks great on a long model overwhelms her tiny legs.
DeleteNice dress, fit is okay it has the large armholes that she favours. You can see they are deeper than the model. Is this to make her shoulders look wider or show her arms more? I am not that familiar with this type of design feature, so any explanation is appreciated
ReplyDelete1:25 well observed. On the model the dress covers her shoulders. On Meghan the shoulders are cut shallower to show off her shoulders. I don’t know why that choice. I wish she’d turned up more relatable.
DeleteAnon 12:57. More relatable? Goodness, I looked at this dress and totally related it to all the "sailor inspired" dresses my Mom bought for me.
DeleteRobe trop sombre pour visiter des enfants malades
DeleteVery nice dress and styling.
ReplyDeleteAgree. A big improvement on the green dress she wore the other day. Also her hair is much better tied up than straggling over her shoulders
DeleteIn terms of fashion, this dress is a significant improvement over the recent chartreuse dress Meghan wore. Her hair looks tidy and attractive in a ponytail instead of a messy bun. More generally, it seems rather hypocritical to me that Harry and Meghan would want to do a faux royal tour like this after all their grievances about their lives when they had official roles doing such things. Charity/philanthropy/public service can be done quite successfully in a quiet way. This seems more like vanity.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
2:46, indeed, vanity. I think the kids may have gotten a quiet giggle out of a private visit from a prince; but why the publicity when they offer … broken promises.
DeleteIt is not a faux royal tour - it is the media who are making out that it is. They are doing what they do best and bringing exposure to many brilliant charities and hospitals etc. We should be pleased that these places are getting positive exposure and the staff , patients and children at the hospital were clearly delighted. Why not just be happy? LRB
DeleteI liked the dress she wore to the Netflix party, but I really liked this one. The rest? Really? Their grievances were about the press and the smear campaign against them while they were working royals. Having contacts in the media I questioned who was behind it from the start. I know many stories that were buried that made the worse probably made up about Meghan seem incredibly tame. There would have been nonstop stories and harassment if they hadn't left. They were threatened regularly thanks in large part to the press. All public information. They're raising a family in the US under much healthier conditions than they would have had in the UK. Prince Harry is supporting Invictus with his wife and they highlight charities, organizations, and worthy causes. Australia has been a host country and will likely be in the near future. Why not make public visits to spotlight some worthy causes and shared interests? Meghan has a successful business. They don't live on taxpayers funds they have to fund themselves. If you don't want to see them don't look. All the people in the world doing the worse things imaginable yeah let's criticize this couple relentlessly while the most depraved walk free. Insanity. This is divorce level press in the UK sustained for 8 years nonstop and widely condoned is insanity to me.
DeleteThis dress is perfect on Meghan.
DeleteThis visit brings worldwide attention to worthy organizations a good part of the world do not know about. The visits are supportive.
This couple’s discomfort was not with royal duties, which they performed well. The reason they left was the vicious criticism and daily press harassment and threats they were subjected to. And they never asked for privacy—that is a line put out by tabloids who they successfully sued and who have an interest in attacking them to this day. Harry, along with several other well known figures, is still in the midst of a court case against a tabloid that wiretapped their phones and other communications.
15:41, the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne is renowned as the best children’s hospital in the entire southern hemisphere. It does not need a visit from an American actress to bring it attention. Let’s work with facts.
DeleteI recognize people have strong, differing opinions on this subject, to which, of course, they are entitled. My opinion, based on Harry and Meghan’s statements and actions over the years, continues to be that they are largely motivated by vanity, a desire to receive adulation and, as to Meghan, a desire to be in the spotlight. They had so much potential, but, in my view, they lack the maturity, emotional stability, and humility to fulfill that potential.
DeleteI have had the thought over the years that Harry’s behavior may be an example of the lingering effects on an adult of dysfunctional home life and family trauma during childhood. It is sad.

I totally agree with you. Very well said. I love this dress on Meghan and her hair looks great. But I don’t understand the reason for this visit at all. Are they working royals? If not, why hype the visit of private individuals??
DeleteThere’s very little chance this kind of trip happens without press coverage. M showed up unannounced a few days after a school shooting in TX and received very minimal coverage, so she’s never done that again. She needs cameras on her.
DeleteWel said
DeleteIt's a privately funded visit, a combination of business and charity visits. One can assume the charity causes did agree with them visiting. The media choose to do extensive covering: this means a lot of people read these articles. Even on this site, blogs on Meghan attract way more comments than Catherine's visits (except for state visits)... In my opinion, Meghan looks very elegant with this outfit and hairstyle.
DeleteThis is a beautiful dress that suits the Duchess very well and her hair pulled back like this is perfect with it. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know why or for whom these trips are? They're not working royals so they can't be representing the crown of UK. Is this for some charity? Not many charities make "state visits" like this. I doubt they have their own kingdom to represent. They wanted privacy but not invisibility, rather the opportunity to choose when and where they are public. I'm just curious what the purpose of the trip is, not trying to pass judgement one way or another.
You are, in a very kind way , asking a question many ( or most) people have.
DeleteThe purpose of the trip seems to be self promotion.
DeleteMeghan Markle is trying to imitate Royal visits. She and Harry clearly miss their former position, especially Meghan.
DeleteI can already hear the outcry and condemnation of this remark by all Meghan fans on this page.
The full skirt of this simple dress is quite flattering on Meghan.
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
This is an Aussie brand, which the Duchess wore from her designs last visit. This dress is a good fit, suits the Duchess well. Only quibble is the black shoes. Love her hair tied back, she looks good here.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress on Meghan. She wears it well and looks very good in it.
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
Agree
DeleteI really like this dress. Meghan looks lovely. I remember the white sheath dress she wore by Karen Gee. Both outfits have sold out. Prince Harry looks dapper. Australia has given them a warm welcome. I love the therapy garden. That's a great idea.
ReplyDeleteAustralia is 28 million and a vast proportion have no interest in even the active monarchy, let alone ex-working royals who deserted ship. “Australia has given them a warm welcome” is false - although a few may have.
Delete@5:42, well no we really haven’t. The vast majority of us are either in favour of no royal family or really don’t care. We would prefer our police focus on us instead of providing security for these two.
DeleteLove this dress! Elegant and understated. Sleeveless with the belted waist and nice flow of the skirt is perfect. And it has pockets which I think Meghan prefers. Accessories are kept to a minimum. I love the stud earrings too but is this dress black or navy? Hard to tell in some of the photos.
ReplyDeleteAs an Australian I respectfully say: Meghan has no place here. These poor children have been dragged into Meghan’s photo opportunity. She does no good here except for her own self promotion looking like a do-gooder, the truth of which she has proven over many years now: she is not.
ReplyDeleteThank you and fully agree.
DeleteEveryone is the hospital who is being photographed looks happy and delighted to be there. Stop being such a grump. LRB
DeleteAgree !!
DeleteWell said Anonymous 07:34! I agree with you fully.
DeleteAna Katarina
They both look good,I like her dress. People welcomed them, they didn't have to visit the Children's Hospital.(Tara)
ReplyDeleteYou’re right they didn’t have to visit the Children’s - and we don’t understand why they did.
DeleteDobrze że odwiedzili chore dzieci w szpitalu dziecięcym ale wystarczyłoby zdjęcie przed wejściem.
ReplyDeleteA therapy garden sounds really good and empowering. (The forest is mine therapy garden).
ReplyDeleteI like very much Meghan's dress, looks professional and fits perfectly. She has a great figur to carry this type of dresses. Prince Harry looks very concentrated too. What a nice visit and purpose, for anyone.
Dear Zucchina, a professional what exactly? And the purpose? Professional self-promoter?
DeleteAnon at 13:16, I hope that you are feeling better now when you have invalidated my comment. Better stay on topic, I'm not here to argue with strangers.
DeleteDear Zucchina, your post is neither invalid nor invalidated by me. I asked some questions, strictly on topic, the topic was what you wrote and that was also on topic.
DeleteWho do they represent as no longer working members of the royal family...but still using their titles
ReplyDeleteThemselves. Literally.
DeleteThey are entitled to use their titles. Prince Harry is the son of the reigning monarch and brother of the next in line. You can’t take that fact away from him. LRB
DeleteWell… LRB … remember what happened to his uncle?! Misuse of the title actually can get it removed.
DeleteTrès belle dans cette robe qui se prête à merveille à sa silhouette
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Stop the nastiness. It's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, let them live their life, pettiness is ugly. Rem
Delete@ Tara - some people welcomed them, probably because they are polite, but many do not support the visit. Visiting a children`s hospital is their usual way of getting a good photo op. - they gave nothing to the hospital, so why go!
ReplyDeleteHow do you know they gave nothing to the hospital ? Usually people who are supporting health care services, especially when children are involved prefer to do it in silence. They do not wish that everybody knows about it. Meghan's classic dress looks very elegant. Harry looks dapper h!mselft.
DeleteInfuriating isn’t it?
DeleteHow do you know that? if nothing else they brought a little happiness in a very difficult situation for some. LRB
DeleteMany have said they were happy to see them so they weren't just being polite. So yeah many are supportive of the visit.
Delete- and you don't give us anything about fashion so why are you commenting anon 10:50?
DeleteIt's a lovely dress but odd given how cold it was in Melbourne. Like their appearance on a faux royal tour - odd.
Hopefully after this visit she can sell some more of her over-priced runny jam, had to throw that little jab in!!!
ReplyDeleteNice one Fitzhugh.
DeleteYes throw a little hate into a fashion blog if it makes you feel good. Charlie’s jam is pretty horrible so why not try that? LRB
DeleteQuand le roi Charles vends son miel hors de prix, cela ne vous dérange pas?
DeleteJ'ai l'impression que vous n'avez toujours pas compris que ce blog est destiné à commenter l'aide.
@18:05 because its runny and very pricey!!!
Delete@LRB how many jars of that $30.00 jam do you have stocked in your pantry, I bet none.....yum yum!!!
DeleteThis is the nicest I have ever seen her for a very long time. Elegant stylish. Hair suits this outfit perfectly.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress on the Duchess and a very handsome prince.
ReplyDeleteOh please…Harry is anything but handsome and he’s insecure about it too.
DeleteI have to say this dress looks nice, it is not one of those clingy skip dress.
ReplyDeleteAnyone catch the irony that they chose the ROYAL children’s hospital to show up to for publicity on their non-royal visit?! All sorts of weirdness, that’s for sure.
ReplyDeleteQue croyez vous que font les autres membres de la famille royale quand ils visitent des hôpitaux ?Opération communication.
DeleteLaissez les tranquille et commentez la mode .
La frustration et la jalousie sont sources de méchanceté gratuite.
Great looking dress and fit is perfect. Why this trip to Australia, must have mist something.

And she has struck a deal to get a %age of the sale of all items she wears! How to earn money without working! Such a philanthropist!!
