On April 10, 2026, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended Netflix’s BEEF Season 2 Montecito Tastemaker event, hosted by Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant, in Montecito. A number of celebrities were in attendance, including Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Charles Melton, as well as Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau, and Orlando Bloom.
The event comes as the Duke and Duchess continue to deepen their relationship with Netflix. They are set to visit Australia in mid-April. For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex wore Heidi Merrick’s “Gale” gown in chartreuse, paired with Jimmy Choo strappy heels.
Heidi Merrick Gale Gown

Nice dress. Like the color.
ReplyDeleteShe’s always had that lovely way about her… very natural, very at ease in herself. And that gown—just beautiful, really. The olive shimmer’s quite something, but it never overpowers her. If anything, it feels like it’s simply following her lead.
DeleteThere’s a quiet elegance there, almost regal—but not in a distant way. More… inviting, you know? Graceful, warm, and entirely her own.
Yes, it’s rather hard not to notice her. And I suppose that’s the magic of it.
Prince Harry looks great. Meghan is lovely as always. Like the dress not love.
ReplyDeleteWhy does she have to cling to everyone ? The 1st photo....look at the hand claw grip...aswell as clinging onto her husband....is she afraid of them disapearing? or running for the hills ? !
ReplyDeleteI must agree that I find her perpetual hugging, hand-holding, and clinging in pictures to be tiresome. It seems juvenile, like something teen girls would do. She is old enough and has enough life experience to have matured out of this long ago and to appear more poised.
Delete-Royal Watcher
Agree !!
DeleteAnonymous 17:32, I know it can be hard to understand Meghan’s tendency to hug frequently but she has always been that way. Many past pictures before she met Harry show it. Also, hugging is very acceptable in many parts of the U.S., such as California and fashion environments in New York, as well as in the American South. I worked in a corporate environment there and the CEO gave routine hugs. It’s simply a warm way of interacting and culturally accepted. She is very tactile with Harry and I find it natural. I guess it can depend on what you are used to.
DeleteEn quoi cela vous dérange.
DeleteElle s'accroche à son mari,où est le problème ?
Par contre, aucun commentaire sur la mode
@Anon 20:15 - I live in the American South and I do not agree that Meghan’s level of hugging and hand-holding in pictures is typical or culturally accepted among adults in their 40s in that region. It is more typical among college girls during sorority rush.
DeleteWoman hugs her husband. Cue the smelling salts for pathetic miserable haters.
Delete00:19 people who question behaviour are not “haters”. I too question not her hugging her husband but hand holding the woman next to her. It’s a very Meghan affectation and not cultural.
Delete@20:15 "she has always been that way" (hugging): I don't doubt it. But your judgement is, I suppose, based on photos you saw of her. So all you and we know is that she hugs and clings in front of cameras. The idea that she does it strategically is not really far fetched, because she never fails to hug the right person in the right position, i.e. in front of cameras.
DeleteI see it as a symptom of always trying to show how many people love her. It feels narcissistic to me, overly forcing relationships to make them look like more than they are for the camera.
DeleteCan someone explain to me what this private party has to do with the royal family? Why not give them the privacy these two cried for?
ReplyDeleteBecause they really don’t want privacy.

Commentez au lieu de poser des questions idiotes
They never asked for privacy. You're just regurgitating trash from tabloids
DeleteIt has as much to do with royals as any post about Zara Tindell or any other more minor royal. Nobody is forcing you to click on posts about them.
Delete00:18 they did. The tabloids and every other press covered it.
DeleteThe dress is not really in good harmony with Meghan's body. Especially around the middle, stomach and dress seem to compete for who is playing the dominant role and stomach wins. Maybe if she could stand straight with a good posture, dispense with hand-holding on both sides for goodness sake - and also with tilting her head to the person she wants to demonstrate closeness with, maybe, that would be useful for her appearance. If it were just one photo - but it happens on all three photos, even the small one beside the model photos: she tilts and curves her whole body to the person beside her. A very odd way of posing and does not help with this somehow unfavorurable dress.
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree with you. Her underarm looks as though her breast might fall out, not very ladylike for a royal duchess. Her hair is stringy and unkempt.
Delete🌞 Virginia
And the poor woman has the most unfortunate toes. Almost like fingers and they need to be covered up. And she needs to buy some Spanx - or go to the gym - to do something about her lax stomach muscles.
DeleteYou nailed it! Always so needy and lacks social composure. Lack of posture makes the dress look drab. MR
DeleteThat’s a beautiful dress - for that model, on the beach. It’s a good colour for Meghan, but I think the fabric, design and extremely low cut underarm don’t flatter her at all. At least she’s tried a bright colour rather than a neutral - and has chosen that aspect well. I do not understand the desperate hand clenching with the other lady in the first photo - was she scared? I rarely comment on hair as I find it very personal, but her long heavy hair is not looking neat here, and would be better tied up or back or without the hair extensions.
ReplyDeleteThe extremely low-cut underarm is a design failure. It really invites side-boob sightings, as demonstrated by the model. That´s ok-ish for a beach dress, but not suited for a party. Not a good look. Well, at least the colour is nice.
DeleteThis dress is not flattering on Meghan around the midriff or with the extremely low cut armholes and saggy bodice. It frankly does not look all that great on the model, either. It seems like a tough color and style for most people to successfully wear.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
I don't like the unflattering style, gold colour or shiny fabric of this dress. Meghan's hair is a mess.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention I think the colour is "chartreuse" not really gold. A green gold.
ReplyDeleteThe color and style of the dress don’t do Meghan any favors. It just doesn’t fit her right.
ReplyDeleteOh, to be young and living in Santa Barbara mixing with Netflix brass! Meghan and Harry Meghan rock this event. The Heidi Merrick clings to the body and Meghan wears it well with natural curves and beauty. Harry looks super polished. I love the open neck shite dress shirt, classic!
ReplyDeleteActually you’ve nailed it with the word “shite”!
Delete@Christina
DeleteWell said - my thoughts ecaxctly.
@21:09, you also nailed it with "Meghan and Harry Meghan". How very fitting :-)
DeleteI wonder from where the commentary above was taken, as I don’t think this is true: “as the Duke and Duchess continue to deepen their relationship with Netflix”. Haven’t they had their contract downgraded and their shoes discontinued each time shortly after launch? Also I find reference to their personal travel / Soho House promotional tour to be as irrelevant as if a prime minister or other public figure were to announce their private holiday destination in advance. It’s private.
ReplyDelete-* shows, not shoes!
DeleteLove the colour, but not really the dress itself. Those are some enormous armholes too - more for casual, outdoor wear I would think. But nice to see Meghan and Harry.
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
This is not one of her better looks. The material of the dress is unforgiving which is evident in these photographs. This why undergarments(skims)really can elevate a look.
ReplyDeleteI’ve seen other photos of the night, and she’s draped all over Mrs Sarandos, literally engulfing her. We saw her in similar behaviour/pose a few weeks back. I’m unsure why she feels the need to behave like that. It’s unusual behaviour from a grown woman.
Lowri.
This stunning gown is, well… rather a splendid choice, I must say. The shimmering olive fabric catches the eye in a most agreeable way—subtle, yet undeniably captivating. And the lady herself—she carries it all with such effortless grace that one can’t help but be impressed. There’s a certain duchess-like quality about her, really… poised, elegant, and just the right amount of enchanting. Quite difficult not to notice, if I’m being honest.
ReplyDeleteThough her husband is looking as good asa real Prince.
It feels like a stylistic mismatch and disrupts the flow.
DeleteThough her husband does cut a rather princely figure himself.
Your “undeniably captivating” AI-generated comment is somewhat mad.
DeleteThis is not a personal attack on Meghan, first of all. But it looks like the designer Heidi Merrick woke up one day and said, "I think I will design a dress that will flatter absolutely no one in a fabric and color that absolutely no one can pull off." The same dress in a lighter airier fabric would have been lovely. I read that the gathering was to honor Carey Mulligan, and the other guests were supposed to wear dark or neutral colors to let Mulligan stand out. Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteFrom a tabloid.
DeleteThe color is good but the dress in itself is really cheap looking or is it the way she stands. She had better ones in the past. Is it just me or is she so clingy.?
ReplyDeletecss
The colour is fine, however for me the fabric shows every bump and pimple. And that is fine, she had 2 children, it is a style she likes to wear, halter type bodice with deep cut armholes. If it is meant to be sexy fine, but it is to lingerie looking for me. She has a lovley figure but that doesn’t mean she can wear everything.
ReplyDeleteLovely colour bad choice of style for her. Just a very ill fitting dress on her. This style and fabric is for a stick thin woman. It shows underwear line stomach withe shine of the fabric.
ReplyDeleteI love the color but the cut of the top of the dress is really bad. This “side boob” cut is more and more in style and it’s really unfortunate. I think that’s the reason for Meghan’s bad posture which it’s not normally so hunched over. She’s a fashion victim.
ReplyDeletemy eyes, my eyes, horrible
ReplyDeleteVery difficult color to pull off, although I think it’s okay on M. But the design with all the panels is very unflattering on both women and shiny, reflective fabric doesn’t work unless you have great posture. Bending or turning looks a mess, especially in photos which reflect even more light.
ReplyDeleteThe gown the model is wearing the middle photo, I prefer this design and style, I zoomed the model photo, and the style is decidedly different, imo more attractive and appealing. The model is a different body shape and taller than Meghan. She wears this dress well.
ReplyDeleteMeghan does not wear clothes that suit her body shape or height. The dress does not fit well or suit the Duchess imo. She didn't look well groomed, her hair was lank and lacklustre.
At the same event Carey Mulligan was wearing the near same colored dress as Meghan. With Carey's blonde hair she looked stunning, the color suited her well. Her dress looked beautiful, she dressed to her figure and height. She also had sandals, with gorgeous red pedicure happening, she looked so well groomed and stylish.
No matter what she wears, it's never a good fit. I live in California, and couples are not always hugging each other like Meghan does, constantly.
ReplyDeleteThey are both desperate for attention…any kind.
DeleteThe story appears to be retold inaccurately. She did not describe this hugging. theme as typical in her country, but as her personal preference, which led to some tension at her relatives’ first dinner.
